Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, told Capital Hill that his boss may file for cloture on the pro-immigration legislation this evening, meaning that a vote by the full Senate would likely come Thursday or Friday. He did not confirm it, though, saying they were still trying to sort it out.

They don’t have the votes.
I guess those 12 stitches counted for something then.
Perpetual rule, folks. By the drug cartels.
I’ll bet he finds 15 R(ino)epublicans to vote for this POS.
Thanks Slyscribe. Unusual off-topic ping to all lists.
I'll believe that when I see it. They have no problem ramming everything else down our throats.
DREAM Act PING
Lugar and Bennett (UT) will vote YES. Pryor (AR) and Nelson (NE) will vote NO. It is CLOSE. Scott Brown and the Maine girls are being bombarded by La Raza with a $250,000 ad buy.
Be great to find a poll done in Maine that shows most people against illegal immigration.
other FR thread is reporting Dream AMNESTY act vote is on THURSDAY!!!!!!!
snowe appears to be “concerned” about the tea party.
I am fearful they will get this. They have the votes. They got Healthcare. John and Ken kfi640 say it will not pass. They are out of Los Angeles. sometimes they are correct . I hope they are. Who is going to stop them?
All three did the right thing with HusseinCare. And that was *before* the statement we sent a few weeks ago.Folks in MA and ME absolutely *should* get on the phone but we shouldn't write any of them off yet.
Appreciate the ping.
Pray they don’t have votes to pass this!
Well, let’s see who on the GOP side is going to vote for it.
My amateur figurings:
-Lugar and Martinez are a 100% lock (they helped introduce the bill in the first place, after all).
-Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Lindsay Graham are likely yes votes, though Graham might back out if he’s in a snit about something else.
-I’m unsure of the positions held by Scott Brown, Mark Kirk or the ladies from Maine. I figure 50-50 for anyone in that group who hasn’t expressly come out against the bill.
-I won’t put anything past Murkowski, though I’m sure she’d vote yes in a heartbeat if she could finagle some more pork projects for Alaska in exchange.
-McCain will give a speech starting with the words “My friends”, and then he’ll forcefully announce he’s suspending his campaign until the Dream Act Crisis has been dealt with.
Ha! I’ll bet she is...
If they vote for this, we’re going to start sending illegals to Maine by the bus load. We have plenty to spare and Maine needs some to properly appreciate the consequences of their votes ...and the votes of their elected officials.
Fair enough; but riddle me this—why has Texas not yet put a law like Arizona’s in place?
We don't want to be sued by the federal government.
Really? Why not? The worst that can happen is you lose the suit...I’m sure the Lone Star State has a few good lawyers in Austin.
