The XM25, designed by Minnesota's Alliant Techsystems, has been in development for about seven years and the first prototypes have been doled out to combat units in Afghanistan this month. The 12-pound, 29-inch system, which costs up to $35,000 per unit, is so sophisticated that soldiers are proficient users literally within minutes. (Credit: U.S. Army)

Prediction - Obamolester will discontinue its use as it gives the ‘mean ol’ U.S. soldier’ an advantage over the poor, freedom-fighting Muslim.

Something similar to this was demoed on TLC (I think it was TLC). Actually, it was the ammo that touted.
Very cool system!

The ammo is the impressive feature, not the gun.

the guns software should be set to delete if they find their way into enemy hands.

Okay there was a drawn out video of CNN's Rick Sanchez and I kinda don't like listening to him so this one just shows the hits. Can be fired from approx 200 meters but need to call close airsupport for guidance? Hmmm, nevertheless, it's pretty cool:

Good grief - this thing is
'non-lethal' - primarily to disable, confuse or scare an opponent, not to kill them.
It's a 35K firecracker distributor - albeit, a fairly accurate one.
"Game changer"?? Yeah, if you don't want to kill your opponents, and that is the wrong kind of 'change' for a battlefield - kinda like Obama's change, all of it senseless and highly questionable.

12 lbs!? That's more than an M-14! That's not going to be popular humping it up and down the "hills" in Afghanistan...
Guess it'll be a special weapon, like a SAW or a sniper...

Great. Does it have a cell phone hooked up to it, so they can immediately call the lawyer JAG-offs to ask them if they are allowed to fire the G-d damned thing at the blessed, sacred mooselimb scumf-cks?? This war would be over 6 years ago if we were allowed to KILL THEM...
To: Pan_Yan
This is excellent. In the past US have to call in air strike, if this weapon is distributed to every squad, we could reduce time and cost to kill a well barricade enemy

I was involved with it's big brother about 6 years ago, but GDATP (A General Dynamics company) couldn't get the ammo to perform to spec at that time. So it was canceled.

Looks like they finally got it right. Good for them and the U.S.
The XM-307 could burn thru a box of 20 rounds in short order at great cost. The M2 can fulfill the same mission on the cheap, with much greater range.

To be issued to the TSA, EPA, and DHS immediately.
All branches of the military to receive brochures on increased costs of their medical coverage.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
