"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Evening. Vision.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Sidney Greenstreet as Wolfe. I had a little trouble with dispelling the image of Sebastian Cabot from my brain the first time I heard.

But, the story lines are pretty true to the Rex Stout style. Glad Ed is including it

Evenin’ Gina. They're already starting Christmas stories.

How was Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving was different. My husband somehow hurt his toe, and we ended up staying around the house instead of going to Mobile to have lunch with his family! It was fine, but odd. At least his toe is getting better!

I hope yours was a good one. :-)

It was; we always go to Williamsburg to visit family. Just perfect for Thanksgiving.

Very good, actually. Better than I expected, for what and where it was. Ended up with fifteen people there, only some of whom were related to me (by marriage - remember, this is Alabama, so some of my in-laws and outlaws make the Clampetts look like the British monarchy). Kind of breezy - at one point I ended up with a leaf embedded in my mashed potatoes like a birthday candle, but it otherwise went very well. And none of the food on the buffet that her relatives brought was first recovered from the side of the road and field cleaned, either. Yours went well, I hope?

What a perfect place for Thanksgiving! I was there one time when I was a kid.

It was great. Had one night where some relatives over did it on wine, but that wasn’t a big deal.

I kind of liked that 12 days of Christmas blurb.

...three bottles gin, two cigars, 1 pack cigarettes...

Ah when this was a more fun country.

It probably still looks mostly the same (:

They have some nice shops and a festive atmosphere.
