S.B.510 will be voted on Monday, so please call and fill up your representatives voice mails! This will tie farmers hands, add tons of regulations, ruin farmers markets and the fines are $20,000,000 to $25,000,000 for not being in compliance. Big government is creating more big bureaucracies. Tell them vote NO! Don’t shut down our food supply. This even controls HOME gardens.

Toll-Free number to the Congressional Switchboard (866) 338-1015. This worked last week when I called Corker and Alexander...BTW Lamar Alexander (TN R) is a CO-SPONSOR of the bill so a LOT of pressure needs to be directed at him.

Bob Corker voted NO on cloture, Alexander sustained from voting on his own bill.

I know earmark bans are in this bill, but why saddle us with FOOD CONTROL along with Health control and Finance control to get what should be a stand alone bill...a earmark ban.

If it is not “rejoinable” to the Constitution it does not apply to Citizens who “reserve” their rights!

Smells heavily of ADM and Con-Agra, who both give more to ‘pubbies than dems, so don’t assume your “good conservative” congresscritter will vote against it. Call them and carp.

Under this new law, US food suppliers would need to meet other countries requirements and standards

Hasn’t NAFTA, WTO, GATT done enough to destroy our sovereignty?

Now the Fed’s want control over my garden !!!

This has got to be satire. Otherwise, are all of our politicians bought and paid for?

This will mean there’ll me no more “farmer’s markets” or “truck farmers”.

Growing food is a right?

Where do I get a permit?

City, county, state, Washington, all of the above?

I understand that it's for the good of the whole and not one person should have more food than any other person has but where does government come into it?

If I have seeds do I have to declare them? (it's just a question, I don't have seeds)...I'm a law abiding soul and all.

S.B. 510 will cost Americans $825 billion in 2010 alone.

seems enough of a reason right there to stomp this one into the ground from whence it came - I'm beginning to understand a little more clearly why the Feds turned the water off to the Central Valley (calif) last year followed by conglomerates buying up the desertified farms.

Okay, what is the real scoop on this?

How much is “hysterical hype” and how much is correct concerning noncommercial growers, i.e. home gardeners, cooperative gardens, communes, community gardens, etc.?

What about seed sales from small sellers, especially over the Internet?

I assume you've been working on this, same as you did on the animal ID legislation. If not, then sorry for bothering you.
