A truck carrying bite-sized bagels accidentally dropped its load in the middle of SR-82 Monday night.
The cardboard box holding the pastries broke open when it hit the pavement, leaving several thousand mini bagels all over the road near the intersection of Sunshine Boulevard.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office asked the Lehigh Acres Fire Department to help clean up the mess.
Officials we spoke to say no one was hurt and traffic was not affected by the bagels.

Police immediately called several local restaurants for a tub of cream cheese and a vat of hot coffee.
Whoops!
If they hadn’t eaten them, they’d still be fresh today.
Pastries? They really shouldn't have a Gentile writing copy about bagels.
Why did Seinfeld come to mind...?
The birds of the air will take care of it, eventually.
