Great clip of "Tiny Dancer" from "Almost Famous". . . everyone all messed up/beat up on a hippie type bus, yet finds the strength and joy to sing a happy song. Below that link is the "before he was gay and too odd" Elton version;

Happy Thanksgiving Rebs, all you “normal” FReepers, and even you NS. . . hope somehow today you can find a smile and be happy!

jess - Sorry I forgot to ping ya to this one. Start @ the beginning of the thread and enjoy!

LVR - Didn’t add much to the thread last night.....we had to take it outside since we ended up w/42 people here. You never knew what you were gonna start w/this thread! Party time in AR:) Ages 3 to 80 and a good time was had by all.

abb - We dusted off a vintage set of klipsch, drug out the old turn table and turned on the floodlights. I checked in on the thread a couple of times and when it came to your post of Jim Stafford’s, Swamp Witch, a Nam Vet that was here called the radio station and requested it.....the station obliged:)

Cowboy - Rockin’ to Alabama as I type:)

Mojitojoe - A big thanks to you. Will pm ya more on that one later.

mstar - I wore them heels out last night! You should have seen my mother-in-law, at 80 she can still throw down!

Gotta run for now.

Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!
Sunshine

Well go find some study ones cause I'm in a dancing "Tina" mood now. Will try to find some good ones this evening.

Your mom and little ones sound just darling.

Cowboy, "Sweet Home" is always THE song and true anthem of the south land. Getting ready for the day while singin this great song. Thank you for the link to a good version.

MJ, "Yellow Rose" always brings a tear to the eye and pride in ones' heart. Thank you.

IdaB, will go back and listen to "The Thanksgiving Ballad of NS" this evening.

LVRon, thank you for this great thread, just a blessing. Hope us Rebs showing up didn't cause any problems. . . we can be loud and rowdy at times, but we are "colorful" and certainly not boring :)

Happy eating and see yall later

Hey, I missed that post!

I'll have to go back through this thread, I'm sure I missed several as they were all coming in so fast.

KC was great, this thread has quite a collection going.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Yet another of Alice’s “disobedient children”.

Did you know that he idolizes AC and credits him with becoming a rocker, himself?

This year was the “Gruesome Twosome Tour” and they played double sets.

Always wanted a set of K-horns. Said I would buy them first and then build the house around them.

“we can be loud and rowdy at times, but we are “colorful” and certainly not boring :)” (mstar)

Just for tonight the AR bunch has:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ieC3mKJ78A&feature=related
Hank Williams JR - All My Rowdy Friends Done Settled Down

Because we started the day bright and early w/the 5 yr. old boy singing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9E1ss3_lNhk
SuperFreak - Rick James - Lyrics

The 5 year old’s version goes something like, “She’s a very kissie girl, the kind that stays with her mother. She’s a super freak, super freak, she’s super freaky.” If he busts out w/that one during Sunday School I’ll die!

The 8 yr. old girl was stuck on:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyU2RAQtxP4
In your letter - Reo Speedwagon

And the 11 yr. old boy kept bellowing and playing an air guitar:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT7XOlPWsN8
Van Halen - Hot For Teacher Live

(Poppa’s gonna have to have a talk w/these boys! Rolling eyes) LOL! We thought we’d ruined them. But, as luck would have it, and in keeping w/family tradition, we put up our Christmas tree and did all of our indoor/outdoor decorations after we enjoyed our meal. At that point they all got stuck on:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw-ChE-TP0o&feature=related
Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer Bluegrass

So it’s official, I’ve got this heating pad on my b/c the reindeer ran me down, not from all the dancin’! LOL!

Speaking of family traditions, we’ll kick the rowdy back up in the morning with:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyDie_4dOdU
Family Tradition - Hank William Jr.

G’nite, All!
Sunshine
