'Tis Thanksgiving Week!
And given that, we'll be hearing lots more stories about the new TSA passenger searches and screenings.
Renewed bailout and financial worries grip Europe,
and back home 0 seems determined to get the START treaty thru the lameduck session of Congress.
I remember like it was yesterday. The FL chapter of FR mobilized, and went to PBC, Broward and Dade to prevent algore from stealing the election.

Good morning everybody. Thanks for the thread, links and ping Molly.
47 years ago today,, right after lunch,,, I was sitting in Journalism Class working on an article for the school paper. Suddenly the intercom system began to crackle,, and we strained to hear what was going on. We could hear a radio news report. We all looked at each other and thought the H.S. Secretary had inadvertantly bumped the switch on the intercom,,,
,, then we heard the newscaster say,,, “...to update: President Kennedy has been shot. Governor Connelly has been shot and the condition of the Vice President is unknown. The motorcade has raced to a nearby hospital. This is all the information we have at this time”
No one who was alive at that time, has ever forgotten where they were when they heard the news.
It doesn’t seem that long..time flys.
Good Morning everyone. Beautiful here today.
You are so right. It was a horrific day and several days after that. Since that day, nothing has been the same. America changed and perhaps we could trace the liberal take-over to that event.
In retrospect, I think the trauma was not so centered on the person, but very much on the event. The assassination of a sitting US President! While it had, of course, happened before, the horror of it was profound.
I was in algebra class. School was dismissed after the announcement. Students were walking up and down the halls getting their things ready to leave-tears streaming down faces.
I was getting ready to leave for my stint in the base clinic when my neighbor told me what had happened.
Good morning. Stayed in bed later this morning. Did a number on my back yesterday and am not moving well today.
And they are as stupid as the people who say that guns kill or SUVs cause accidents.
It is the people who kill, not their tools.
Anything, almost, can be turned into a weapon. A shoelace, for example, can be used to strangle someone. Pencils, plastic forks from the dinner tray, many things can easily be turned into weapons.
I think I may have just gotten myself zotted by Jim Robinson. I sent him a personal Freepmail asking him to dump the anti-Romney blurb on each and every thread. I get it, but for crying out loud, I believe we have more serious problems on this forum, like the nitwits so invested in defeat that no matter what successes we achieve in any election, they are immediately criticizing it.
We are in this hole through Lib and RAT incrementalism and we aren't going to get out of it overnight.
In case Jim drops the hammer on me, it has been a real pleasure sharing the journey with all of you and you know where to find me on Facebook.
I am so very sorry. I know what you’re going through. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I agree and sorry if you are zapped.
Thanks Jem. I have so much to do this week but I guess if it doesn’t get done-it doesn’t get done. I was going to just trudge through the best I can, but the pain is getting the better of me and I may go back to bed.
Back pain is horrible. I hope you can get some rest and get to feeling better soon!
At least that is my understanding of the anti-romney campaign. He isn't acceptable. He'll never be acceptable. And we won't support him just because he's a pubbie. That isn't good enough anymore.
Maybe the elite will get it.
Oh no! And today is usually shopping day, isn’t it?
Rest a lot and take drugs. You can catch up.
(((((Geee)))))
Can’t believe it’s been 47 years!
I was in Social Studies class.
My folks weren’t crazy about the Kennedys, but we all felt awful about it, nonetheless.
OK! I shall indulge then, walk and walk and walk. Kids went to a state park saturday so I am batching it, oh the things I am finding to eat at the big house, something tells me I am going to be in trouble when they come home, oh well...
Being I don’t fly, got to tell ya, they are going overboard with this searching thing, the pat downs, way overboard, like they would suspect a 90 year old lady carrying a bomb. PROFILE but oh no, might hurt someones feelings. In all my years in law enforcement I never frisked a person as they do. I think it is a ‘show time’ period for BamBam...what a sad state of time we are in with this jerk in office.....
Got to do some shack cleaning today, I have looked at the task all weekend and it did not get it cleaned.
My chickens have have stopped going into the hen house and are free ranging. They use to free range but would come to the hen house at night. Got to work on this, my dogs are finding the eggs and eating them.. Suggestions???
Shall watch a little TV news for now, change my bed linens and might even wash a couple of dishes.

I was in 5th grade at my Catholic grade school; when the news came over the PA our teacher Sister Barbara Mary started crying.
So many images of that terrible weekend........my sister, a sophomore in high school, coming home from school, throwing down her book bag in disbelief, running to her room and slamming the door, crying.......the television for once being left on all day and all night, grainy black and white images of somber newscasters, and in the background a large table with Christmas crafts my mom was working on for the upcoming church bazaar....... the awful moment when Ruby shot Oswald...... John-John saluting his daddy; and what has always been the most poignant remembrance for me, the riderless horse, the empty boots.......
