[Alleged] President Obama announced this week that he will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the nation's highest civilian honor – to John Sweeney, president emeritus of the country's biggest union, the AFL-CIO.
Sweeney is a socialist activist and a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America, or DSA, the principal American affiliate of the Socialist International. The DSA has demonstrated a close relationship with Obama over the years.

Obama’s heroes have always been communists.
My guess is that Barry promised Sweeney that he would pass card check legislation in return for campaign contributions and free campaign labor and Sweeney was stupid enough to believe him. Here we are two years into a Dem controlled government and no card check. Sweeney was taken for a ride. Union members should stop tolerating the toadying for Dem candidates.
I am sure it does
It’s only a matter of time ‘til Zero awards it to himself.
Who could be more deserving?
Are they f***ing kidding me???!!!
That miscreant?
Nachum, don’t know if this qualifies for your list or not but I sure as heck am going to need anti-nausea medicine pretty soon.
Obama does something destructive at least once every day. He is consistent.
Considering BO got the Nobel Piece prize this is just another BS recognition that most people could care less about !
Everything except for that Medal of Honor he was compelled to award recently. NO ONE can besmirch that.
By the way, though the article modifies the “highest honor” label for this award with the word “civilian,” I hate the headline.
As far as I’m concerned, the Congressional Medal of Honor will ALWAYS be our nation’s highest honor.
Lucky you! What a grat find!

Fortunately, it doesn’t mean much. Who remembers medals of freedom? Democrats in 0ffice typically corrupt, debase and devalue whatever they touch; remember the Medal of Honor clinton traded to Inouye for some political favors; and the Grammy given to hillary for some phony audio book?
Speaking of great finds, I’m not sure this link will work for everyone, but it’s google books, Life Magazine, June 11, 1971, page 77.... Mauldin’s tribute to Audie Murphy.
Take the thumbnails mode and scroll down to page 77.
Fixed it.
