I agree with you and I cannot believe everyone here is doing what they hate - voting for someone with less talent simply because the young woman is related to a controversial figure. If the shoe was on the other foot and it was one of Obama’s daughters and the girl could not dance as well as the others, then everyone here would be going crazy if she stayed in.

I feel for Brandy since she has more ability than Bristol and she worked very hard for it.

Since when do conservatives back someone with less ability? I thought we stood for merit-based promotions regardless of color, creed, or politics?

I suspect the voters who wanted Bristol out the most voted for Kyle to keep him in thinking that the vote would come down between Kyle and Bristol. By voting for Kyle they must have believed this would cause Bristol to lose. But they took their votes away from the much better talented Brandy. Bristol was not in the bottom two so they chose the wrong dancer - Kyle should have lost not Brandy. Regardless, I never believe in voting for the lesser dancer for what ever reason.

This attitude displayed here reminds me of all these people who voted for Obama simply because they would cast their vote for the first black president. There really is no difference.

my 2 cents.

Kyle and Bristol are pretty much the same caliber as what I saw on the Mickey Mouse Club.

DWTS is an amateur and pro as a team. Kyle and Bristol didn't learn a thing. They're awkward and bland. Shaking your booty does not a dancer make.

So why did the judges bow to them??

RATINGS!!!!!

Call in shows are popularity contests. Bristol is more popular with DWTS voters than Brandy was. Brandy was a better dancer, imo. Oh well.

American Idol works the same way. The contest is set up for people to call and support their favorites. That is why it gets ratings - audience involvement. The show doesn’t exist to crown the best dancer. It exists to sell advertising by drawing maximum eyeballs.

I’m afraid you’ll have to cope with it somehow... :-)

It may not be Tea Party supporters entirely. Bristol is a favorite on Vote for the Worst.

It’s entertainment. Different strokes...

Allow me to preface my remarks with this: I like Bristol as much as the next FReeper. That being said, I really though she was toast last night. I felt that way since Kurt left. He was the last of the good celebrity dancers. I thought he’d last a little longer than Bristol has since he has a huge fan base from the NFL and Christain groups. He just didn;t have the pull that Bristol has with FReepers and conservatives because of who her mother is.

Based on pure merit, Brandy should have moved on to next week. She was a better all-around dancer than Bristol. BP had one really good night, (Monday night), but the rest of the time she was out of her element. To her credit, she is the only celebrity in the history of DWTS that has never had any acting or performing arts background. She is a true ameture. She has done well with what she’s had to work with, namely no past professional performing experience. Mark Ballas has worked wonders with her.

Brandy is gone simply because she didn’t have the fan base to keep her going on to the finals. And that’s what counts, fans votes. FReepers have been stuffing the ballot box for BP. That’s fine. Brandy and all the others that have been let go could have had the same luxury but they didn’t. Why? Because those that vote, didn’t vote for them in enough numbers to keep them afloat. They are sitting on the sidelines watching Bristol, Jenniffer, and Kyle go head-to-head for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

If Bristol wins it all, which I don’t think she will, she will be the most hated person in the USA for a while. There will be charges that the voting was rigged. There won’t be any proof of that, as much as people would like to believe. It will be because BP garnered more votes than the next guy. The judges votes doesn’t carry that much weight in the voting. The people vote to keep or get rid of a dancer. And people here at FR and other conservatives have seen to it that Bristol gets more votes than the others.

It’s a simple as that.

Exactly my analysis. Brandy should have stayed on, but that does not mean Bristol should have been voted off.

It only took two posts to define Brandy Norwood as nothing but 'the black girl' and just a few more to refer to her as a pole dancer because of her name.

Good, proud, thinking Christian Conservatives, I'm sure.
