Mr. Richard Anderson PO Box 20706, Atlanta, Georgia, 30320.
Re: Airline Travel
Dear Mr. Anderson,
My husband and I restrict our airline travel because flying is a flaming inconvenience.
Last year and this year we chose our vacation places based solely on whether or not we could get there by AUTOMOBILE!
Solution: My husband and I should be PRE- SCREENED ( similar to a government security clearance). We should then NEVER NEVER NEVER go through airport security again.
For now we are NOT flying!
Sincerely,
Wintertime
P.S. It is outrageous that John Tyner is being investigated by the TSA while Muslim women go through security essentially unscreened!
the ones of us
the ones of us
those of us
TSA is Affirmative Action for low IQ deviants. If they didn’t have that work they, the ones who get caught would end up on those address lists you can find on the internet so you can find out they are living near you.
So?....I wonder how many blacks have highest rating security clearances. ( Just wondering.)
Is is possible that one of the reasons we don't have pre-screening clearances for passengers is because whites would disproportionally qualify and blacks disproportionally fail?
My husband and I have noticed that in every ( yes, **every**) airport that we have ever used the passengers are overwhelming white. It is amazing to us that even in the cities to which we travel with majority black populations the passengers in the plane and in the the terminal are disproportionally white.
Is it possible the these invasive and degrading screening procedures is just one more way to shove a thumb in the eye of the white man?
Well...If “trusted traveler” we soooo wonderful our pilots would be using them.
Evidently, our nation's pilots must be an ignorant bunch because they find the screening very annoying. Rush Limbaugh had a pilot call in yesterday complaining about the searches.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the TSA must either be abolished, or, in lieu of that, seriously de-funded. We are seeing the literal “nazification” of air travel security. This will make a GREAT campaign issue for the Republicans in 2012 if they are smart enough to grab onto it (as an aside, they probably aren’t).
Could the TSA be forced out-of-business? Sounds implausible, but I think a “John Galt” solution might work.
The current nazi tactics of the TSA work because we voluntarily SUBMIT to them (I chose that word carefully). We cooperate. We accede.
The solution: don’t cooperate.
Don’t submit.
Choose to not fly.
Voluntarily withdraw from their “process”.
That’s all well and good, you say, but how have you handled that personally?
I won’t be flying again, ever.
I can say that with assurance. The last time I was on a big commercial plane was 26 years ago, 1984. I have no intention of going to the airport again.
I’ll drive, take the train, even board a grimy bus if I have to. If I can’t get there that way, I ain’t goin’. If you need me somewhere far away in a hurry, forget it — better find someone else. I won’t be there.
Atlas must shrug at the airports, for TSA to be put back into its place in a free society.
Its Obamas revenge against Americans watching FOX, for voting along Tea Party lines and for being plain white christian crackers.
Sorry, but its the bitter truth,
Want to show signs of protest?
Lets start burning Korans.
Actually...I don't think so. Mr. Anderson, as president of a major U.S. airline, has more political influence than I do with our politicians.
But...Hey!...It just occurred to me. Perhaps this all part of the Cloward Piven strategy. Overwhelm the system. Drive these airlines into bankruptcy. Then have the government nationalize the entire flying industry.
Also...If they had pre-screening security clearances that would mean a loss of TSA jobs and communist party ( Oops! “Democrat”) votes. They would need far fewer employees if all the passenger needed to do was have their fingerprints screened before getting on the plane.
Another consideration is traveling via cargo ship. It may (I haven’t researched it) cheaper than a cruise or passenger line. It costs about $60 - $150 per day (depending on company and other things).
My point is that being “pre-screened” won’t guarantee you that you are safe from those that pass the test. That is the argument you will hear from those that support the current security measures.
Be prepared to counter the argument effectively, not with an ignorant rant. In this case the security clearance parallel won’t hold water.
Yes, we looked at that. There can be some good deals, but if you want to return via ship, it can be dicey.
Cunard currently has service back and forth, you just have to spend a little longer in England/Europe to wait for the return crossing.
It’s expensive to be sure, but after saving for this trip for ten years, and given the current aircraft crapola going on, we will spend the $ and have a pleasant trip (hopefully).
Just as soon as I click “post”, I will take a sip of my diet Mountain Dew. I have absolutely no guarantee that I won't choke to death on it.
I’ve come to the reluctant conclusion that it isn’t viable for my travel either. Unfortunately, Cunard doesn’t service the places I want to visit. My travel is a bit of ways off so I have time to check for other alternatives. I’m not sure there are any.
There has to be a way to pre-screen, but paying some other company to do the background check is not only a waste, but a risk. I don't think that the agencies that hold my security clearances would like for those to be disclosed to a third party.
Almost time to get my jollies.
Well, then... I think I’ll be pulling the same stunt as the Haji from now on.
It’s against my religion to be screened.
I also think there is underlying racism. Do a casual scan of any air terminal you may use. Are the passengers disproportionally white or black?
Yes, it is also about a government jobs program for communist ( oops! “Democrat”) votes.
And...It could also be a Cloward Piven strategy to bankrupt private airlines, thus making room for government take over of the industry.
When our current system is 100% perfect in preventing shoe bombers, Fruit of the Loom bombers, and cargo bombs, get back to me.
There is NO such thing as perfect!

Go to min 17, he goes into the body scanner, they find mobile phone and microphone. Then he reveals what else he had: Thermite, ignitor and lighter NOT found! Sorry it’s German TV. American TSA rep admitted nothing is 100%
“When our current system is 100% perfect in preventing shoe bombers, Fruit of the Loom bombers, and cargo bombs, get back to me.”
Again, I don’t support the current measures. However, it is newly implemented. It will take time to show how effective it is in catching terrorists.
You can complain about the intrusive searches, but you can’t complain about the new procedures’ ineffectiveness until there is data to scrutinize. The measures are too new.
The failed terrorist attacks you reference occurred under the old system, and I think its fairly obvious to us all that you aren’t going to catch cargo bombs by searching an individual.
It would probably cost less to put more Air Marshals on the planes than it does to conduct these expanded searches.
No one ( neither I or anyone else on this thread) has commented on the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the new measures. This is a strawman argument of your creation.
To use **your** reasoning, how can we know if pre-screening ( similar to government security clearances) would be effective or not unless we TRY it!!!
I strongly suspect that the reason TSA does not implement a pre-screening system is that BLACKS would fail disproportionally, and WHITES would pass disproportionally.
It would probably cost less to put more Air Marshals on the planes than it does to conduct these expanded searches.
Neither I or any other poster on this thread has mentioned "Air Marshals". Why are you throwing out this strawman? I can not argue against a strawman of **your** creation.
Not proof read. I have stuff to do.
