The purpose of the TSA is not security. It's security theater. That, and a social exercise in political correctness. And not to forget, keeping 45000 people employed.

I’m afraid they’re taking drastic, ineffective measures so when the next one hits they can pretend that they tried to stop it. Some dem said Obama’s presidency could be saved if we have a terrorist attack so voila! the TSA chases its tail so when the ordered attack happens they can say they were busily trying to avert disaster before the planned attack hits.
I’ve also noticed that there has been a rise in talk about 9-11 truthers. Possibly to remind people how “crazy” it is to think that a POTUS would actually plan for a terrorist attack.
I say that depends on the POTUS. If it’s a POTUS who has spent his entire life with communists and Islamists - both of which have elaborate game plans for destroying America (game plans that the POTUS has helped to carry out - and who actually told the Egyptian ambassador that he was and still is a Muslim who supports the Muslim agenda (presumably worldwide sharia and the destruction of the US and Israel).... then it’s not such a crazy proposition. Especially if it comes right after somebody had recommended to him that he could use a terrorist attack to up his popularity.
I’m afraid they are priming the nation for a terrorist attack that “accidentally” makes it through what all of us know is draconian but totally ineffective screening.
Was just thinking.... A woman opts out of the naked scanner. She is searched by TSA. The woman is wearing a feminine hygiene knapkin. The TSA agent detects this, but lets it pass as acceptable.
The woman boards the plain, goes to the bathroom, removes the feminine hygiene product which holds explosives and blows up the airplane.
The TSA is a joke.
Amazing. Had no idea it was 45,000. I wonder what the total budgetary outlay is including benefits? A 'Special Forces' elite Airport Security Team (trained by the Israelis) would be a lot less in number, cost much less and be a lot more efficient and be able to Catch the bad guys and Leave the Rest of us Alone.
Actually, it made a lot of sense for about a year or maybe eighteen months after 9/11 if we were putting things in place to tell the truth about Islam after that interval. Since we never changed that tune, though, it just looks stupid and weak both.

It’s a booth you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you.
They see this as a win-win for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling. It also would eliminate the costs of a long and expensive trial. Justice would be swift. Case closed!

Screw that, I have no problems facing young mooslim males. I did it two weeks ago, my 13 year old son and his buddy laughed their asses off. I feel encouraged for the future with these young guys as they, and most of their friends seem to detest the mooslims.
I have given my share of beatings and received my share of beatings. Where I grew up we were not punished in school for fighting, we were led to the ring, had gloves put on and made to finish it off. Today, most of the schools teach the kids to be victims.

I want them to be thrown out of this country and I do not give a damn about how you view me as a result of knowing how I feel. 2banana, I am assuming you are pointing out the obvious cowardice of our current “rulers”. I am not attacking you, but this perception that we are cowards. How about the British General who said we cannot defeat al queda? Is there not a single male still living in Great Britain?
WE allow this, but don’t want to profile the most likely suspects? We are in the dark ages with this security business. My suggestion: Anyone who wants to fly must have a flight passport for all flights. This passport is only given after a thorough background check. Along with this passport there must be an eye scan. This would require a pre-scan to get the passport.
Anyone who has nothing to hide will welcome this. Problem is that there are plenty out there who have lots to hide. That’s why this system will never be used anytime soon.
Why would this be more of an invasion of privacy anymore than having a body scan or a pat down....which is a complete invasion of privacy. Between this and having to take off shoes, flying has certainly become a degrading experience. I prefer driving or the train now.
Amen to that and read the eyes. An old teacher used to tell us the eyes have it.
