34-year-old Brit arrested following an altercation with female staff member at the airport

A tourist has received a two-month prison sentence after flipping the finger at an airport official, the 7Days tabloid reported on Sunday, quoting the English tabloid The Sun.

The 34-year-old Brit, Paul Anthony, was arrested at Dubai International Airport following an altercation with a female member of staff as he made his way through passport control.

Dubai Misdemeanors Court then sentenced the United Nations worker to two months behind bars.

He is now appealing the conviction. The court heard he was planning a six-day stopover in the UAE after arriving from an Asian country on his way back to the UK when the incident happened.

The prosecution claims he argued with the woman because she would not allow him to use a telephone at a customer service desk.

It is alleged he then cursed and made an offensive hand gesture.

The police were called and he was taken into custody.

Where’s that ‘diplomatic immunity’ card?!? Doesn’t it work outside of the U.S.?

Thanks nickcarraway. It's also considered risky to travel under any of the names of the suspects in that assassination of last year.

This is a good start.
When ALL UN employees are behind bars or pushing up daisies the world will be a better place.

Snotty elite thought that the rules did not apply to him.
