The Washington Redskins and quarterback Donovan McNabb have agreed to five-year contract extension, reports NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, citing a league source.
The deal, which locks in McNabb until 2015, includes $40 million guaranteed and could be worth up to a maximum of $88 million, including $10 million in incentives. The deal averages $15.5 million per season, according to the source.

Wow!
Excellent news for us Giants fans.
I guess if they didn’t.......they’d be racist.
Is this an Onion story?
The coach benchs the QB, so the owner gives the QB $88 million?
What next, they’ll sign Brett Favre as a backup?
Christmas spirit! Gotta love it. Would Jerry Jones do that?
More money than sense, apparently. A lot more.
Not bad for a guy whose coach thinks he’s too old and tired to run a 2-minute drill.
As a Giants fan, I wish McNabb stayed an Eagle, as they are better than the ‘Skins
Incredibly stupid... is there a fantasy football team owner in the country.. outside of DC.. who would guarantee ANYTHING for McNabb?
The NFL has GOT to get away from the guaranteed money... it will kill them.
McNabb is still a decent qb, but on most teams he would be a backup.
A man who was best known for his scrambling ability is getting the big paycheck when his legs will be 39 years old at the end of the contract?
First he signs the fat, out-of-shape whiner Albert Haynesworth to a $100 mil. contract, and now an over-the-hill QB who coach Shanahan described as "not in shape to run our 2-min. offense" gets an $88 mil. deal.
Snyder rules.
How old will McNabb be in 2015?
70-75?
Limbaugh didn't say he was no good; he simply implied that he wasn't as good as the media wanted him to be.
The QB they got rid of, Campbell, was perfectly good. This is gigantic stupidity.
LOL. Must be nice to have $88 million to piss away. I’d love to have just .01% of that to pay off my bills. :)
After Sunday's game against Dallas, the Giants need more than this to make their run for the division. Worst game against a team not making the playoff in a long time.
