Potential 3rd party candidates in 12 ?

Posted on 11/15/2010 12:40:29 PM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

This is a message to the RNC and any potential Palin haters. Many of us will look for a 3rd party candidate if the GOP settles for another John McCain or even another "compassionate conservative" in the mold of George W. Bush. We want the real thing this time and Sarah Palin is real.

We will split the vote. And we will take as many of we can with us.

This is not a threat. This is warning.

As for potential 3rd candidates. I would even vote for someone like Alan Keyes if he takes another shot at is. Perhaps Tancredo. Donald Trump has expressed intrest, but I think he is way too left on social issues for me. Maybe someone like John Bolton ?

I will say it. I would rather lose the 2012 election than sell out to the liberals, RINOs and MSM.

The ball is in the RNC’s court. Not mine.

I’m sure Ralph Nader is good for another go.

The bad news is, the folks at the RNC don't care.

The only way to make them care is to become an activist, get on the inside of the Republican Party, with likeminded friends, and change the party from within.

The only way we get stuck with a someone like McCain is if we split our conservative vote among three or four conservatives. Personally, I blame the Huckahillbilly for the McCain nomination. That phony split votes from the base and away from conservatives who could win.

If he does it again he will be taking votes that would otherwise go to Palin. Romney has no chance, but Pawlenty or some other squish will be there to gain the ‘plurality’ if conservative votes are divided.

I remember this conversation well. Only it was in 1992, with two “young_texas_conservatives”. I remember how proud they were that they were going to, “send a message to Washington and vote for Ross.”

Since they both worked for me, I also remember two long faced, dejected souls on a Wednesday morning. Even through they obviously felt bad, I had to make sure the lesson was well learned, “you sure sent a message to Washington, you elected Bill Clinton.”

I hate tp interject reality into it, but if you are a conservative, and you don't vote for the Republican, you will be voting for Zero. That's the sad truth.

You, and every other conservative needs to work doubly hard to make sure the Republican candidate is an ACTUAL conservative, not a pretender. It's really the only option to keep from voting for zero by default.

If Sarah Palin gets the nomination, then its all cool. But if they reject her and throw her under the bus, Thats when I will find someone else.

So if you can't have St. Sarah you'll throw the race to the bad guys?

You are a true Patriot. Just not an American one.

No. I am just not going to appease the leftists in both parties and the liberal media in hopes that they will eat me last. It is not really about Sarah,.. it is about what is right.

That is how Clinton was elected in 1992 with 43% of the popular vote. It is also how Clinton got re-elected in 1996 with less than 50% of the popular vote.

Fight for a good candidate in the Republican primaries. If your candidate doesn’t get the nomination, then pick the lesser of two evils in the general election.

If you vote for a third party candidate, then you might as well vote for Obama.

You have obviously never been through this before. The RNC has nothing to do with it.

But basically you are saying if you can’t vote for Palin
you are taking your toys and going home, to hell with the country.

Right?
