I’ll take a pass on that but thanks anyway...
Lyndon LaRouche’s final run for the White House?
Yeah, let’s ALL DO OUR PART TO GET OBAMA re-elected. That’s the ticket.
None please.
I’m sure Ralph Nader is good for another go.
The only way to make them care is to become an activist, get on the inside of the Republican Party, with likeminded friends, and change the party from within.
The only way we get stuck with a someone like McCain is if we split our conservative vote among three or four conservatives. Personally, I blame the Huckahillbilly for the McCain nomination. That phony split votes from the base and away from conservatives who could win.
If he does it again he will be taking votes that would otherwise go to Palin. Romney has no chance, but Pawlenty or some other squish will be there to gain the ‘plurality’ if conservative votes are divided.
I remember this conversation well. Only it was in 1992, with two “young_texas_conservatives”. I remember how proud they were that they were going to, “send a message to Washington and vote for Ross.”
Since they both worked for me, I also remember two long faced, dejected souls on a Wednesday morning. Even through they obviously felt bad, I had to make sure the lesson was well learned, “you sure sent a message to Washington, you elected Bill Clinton.”
I hate tp interject reality into it, but if you are a conservative, and you don't vote for the Republican, you will be voting for Zero. That's the sad truth.
You, and every other conservative needs to work doubly hard to make sure the Republican candidate is an ACTUAL conservative, not a pretender. It's really the only option to keep from voting for zero by default.
So if you can't have St. Sarah you'll throw the race to the bad guys?
You are a true Patriot. Just not an American one.
That is how Clinton was elected in 1992 with 43% of the popular vote. It is also how Clinton got re-elected in 1996 with less than 50% of the popular vote.
Fight for a good candidate in the Republican primaries. If your candidate doesn’t get the nomination, then pick the lesser of two evils in the general election.
If you vote for a third party candidate, then you might as well vote for Obama.
No thanks. I won’t tell my children that I caused Obama to win another term by voting for a 3rd party candidate. I want my children to spend their lives in the greatest country on Earth, not a country brought to its knees by a Marxist.
I will not vote for Romney or any other docialist. I will vote for someone.
I will not vote for Romney or any other socialist. I will vote for someone.
The absolutely most critical thing is to get an articulate, committed conservative candidate, who knows exactly what conservatism is (individual responsibility as opposed to government authority), and publicly slams that home on the national stage, on every issue, so that no one can filter, spin, or hide the message.
There is good chance that person will not win anything because of the stupid universal egocentric abyss we as a nation have fallen into. (Does anyone think JFK's "don't ask what your country - " has much winning traction these days?) But at least those who face the truth about themselves, about our nation, will go down swinging.
The Republican Establishment is just another class of furtively funded, government obsessed politicians; how obvious is that? Thus the Tea Party.
There is nothing magical, only contrived, about two political parties.
I would hope conservatives have learned by now that the real power lies in:
The US Senate & House
Govenorships
State legislatures
Other state elected offices (secretary of state, Lt. Gov., etc...)
If you stay home on election day because the presidential nominee is not to your liking, then you are also giving all those other important elected offices to the left.
I agree that consertavtives aren’t going to “hold their nose and vote for the Republican” anymore (especially after the elite failed to do that for tea party candidates), but forming a 3rd party will just drain votes away from solid conservatives running in races at all levels.
For such a radical sentiment, you dont define your terms very well. You sound a tad undisciplined.
