The original True Grit was honestly not a good movie at all. Wayne had had much better performances in his career. And let’s not forget Glen Campbell’s acting...or maybe we should.
I trust the Coen brothers. I’m sure this will be a better version.
Also, this version supposedly follows the book more closely than the Wayne version.
Funny. Glen Campbell tells a story of his amazement that someone would think he could act.
He tells the story at one of his concerts and then sings the signature song from the movie.
Here is a really cool video that shows all the location True Grit was filmed.
It shows the location then and now.
11 minutes. Opens with Glen Campbell singing True Grit.

I think you grew up in “Opposite World”
I'd never acted in a movie before, and every time I see True Grit I think my record's still clean!
True Grit was amongst John Waynes 4-5 best. (along with ‘The Searchers’, ‘The Shootist’, and a few others )
“....fill your hands, you sonofabitch”
it does not get any better than that.
yes Glenn Campbell stunk, but the Duke, Bob Duvall and Dennis Hopper were spot on.
