Funny. Glen Campbell tells a story of his amazement that someone would think he could act.
He tells the story at one of his concerts and then sings the signature song from the movie.
Here is a really cool video that shows all the location True Grit was filmed.
It shows the location then and now.
11 minutes. Opens with Glen Campbell singing True Grit.

And Jeff Bridges has the patch on the other eye.
You’re just hopelessly brain damaged aren’t you?
I’m assuming that at some point I said something you didn’t like on another thread so you want to bring it here? I’d call you immature but stupid is more fitting.
Not going to see the remake, it will only dissappoint me....No one can cover for John Wayne.
***Just watched the John Wayne version again after many, many years. Still a great movie.****
Who ever thought Glen Campbell could act should be shot! He totally ruined the movie!
And all that Colorado landscape is sure NOT Oklahoma!
Much as I”ve enjoyed the Coen brothers flicks, I’ll skip this one. Nobody redoes John Wayne and pulls it off. Why not redo “The Sands of Iwo Jima” ? Hollywood has no originality
He makes a great drunken killer of criminals.
I’m betting it’s better than the original.
“The original True Grit was honestly not a good movie at all. Wayne had had much better performances in his career. And lets not forget Glen Campbells acting...or maybe we should.
I trust the Coen brothers. Im sure this will be a better version.”
I think you grew up in “Opposite World”
***We havet had a good old style western since Unforgiven.***
Burt Lancaster’s or Clint Eastwood’s UNFORGIVEN? There is a difference.
Re #31:
Okay. Tell me what I said that you disagree with. I said three things:
I said that True Grit was not a good movie (I meant to say not a GREAT movie but the typo is my error and I take responsibility for it).
I said John Wayne had much better performance in his career.
I disparaged Glen Campbell’s acting. (surely you don’t disagree on that)
Oops...four things: I said I trusted the Coen Brothers.
I'd never acted in a movie before, and every time I see True Grit I think my record's still clean!
***No one can cover for John Wayne.***
After MCLINTOCK John Wayne began to parodies of himself in every Western he made, and I have seen them all. I find I have a preference for Randolph Scott.
I can immagine what TRUE GRIT would have been like with Randolph Scott and Joel McRea in the title roles.
The movie Rooster Cogburn was even worse. there are no Cascade Mountains outside of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Not unless they're going to use CGI. I don't think Matt Damon is even 3D in real life.
If they pull the spanking scene, I’m not watching.
There sure is a difference, but I am referring to Eastwood’s Unforgiven as the last true western to come out of Hollywood.
“I disparaged Glen Campbells acting. (surely you dont disagree on that)”
Personally I thought his performance “although forgettable” somehow added to the charm of the movie.
His back and forth with Kim Darby at the dinner table was a typical example,a bit wooden but never came across as forced or contrived. Just an example of why I actually liked Campbell in the role.
John Wayne was terrific creating the unforgettable character Rooster Cogburn. I can’t imagine anyone personifying the steel, grit, debauchery and lovability in that character better than he.
