I really don't care what you think about the casting.
The man behind the movie realized he was running out of time so he rushed this into production.
Hope it’s in 3-D.
Bump
I’ve neither heard of nor sen any of the actors, nor seen almost anything any of them has ever been in.
This should be a bomb.
Interesting casting, not sure what they saw of Dagny in Taylor Schilling. Most of the cast seems to be B and C list at best.

True, but would you want to see Tom Cruise as John Galt? Or Gwyneth Paltrow as Dagny Taggart?
I think as long as (and this is a real longshot) the producers demand that the integrity of the intent of the book remains intact, it doesn’t matter who the cast is as long as they are decent actors. The star of the movie should be the book itself and its ideals.
I’m listening to Atlas Shrugged now on audio. I started reading the novel, but never could get far before I had to put it down for weeks at a time. Now I listen in the car when I travel. I hate to get to my destination because I want to stay in the car and hear more.
Thanks, I look forward to seeing it. I wonder if Taylor Schilling is related to Curt - they live in nearby towns in MA.

I hope there’s a cameo from Bagpipe Cat.

I can imagine Satan’s little pets getting moist over this movie.
Like this clown who claims he read the book but thinks Reardon is the railroad tycoon?

You just repeated what the guy behind the money said.
Plus he didn’t want to spend the money for “name” actors.
I always envisioned a young Katherine Hepburn as Dagney.

“Ive neither heard of nor sen any of the actors, nor seen almost anything any of them has ever been in.

Whether or not it is a bomb, bear in mind that the top gorssing movies of all time starred nobodies (not counting minor roles). The only real big name in the top ten was Clark Gable for “Gone With the Wind.” Actors who may seem like exceptions, for instance Charlton Heston, Harrison Ford, and Leo DiCaprio, you must remember weren’t big until after “The Ten Commandments,” “Star Wars,” and “Titanic” hit.
“First of all, the ideology espoused here is extremely radical. Making a movie based on the work of Ayn Rand would be akin to making a movie about Stalin and his version of communism. Sure, Id love to see a biopic about Stalin be made. The difference here is that ATLAS SHRUGGED would bathe this radical philosophy in a positive light. Imagine the uproar if a movie were to hit theaters that made Mussolini out to be a hero, a savior, a prophet.”
I wonder what this guy’s definition of “radical” is. Must not be much more than “extreme” or “polarizing.” Because Rand is conventionally known as a reactionary. Politically, at least, though not as regards religion, art, sexual mores, and so on. Certainly, though, she has nothing to do with Stalin or Mussolini, who represent a political and economic ideology directly opposed to hers.
gorssing = grossing
Can’t wait!
I always envisioned Ann Coulter as Dagney.
