DancingWTStars Bristol Palin to Win it All? Looking Possible...Week 8 Mon Live Thread 8pm
Associated Content ^ | 11/8/10 | Carol Whyte

Posted on 11/08/2010 4:55:01 PM PST by Dr. Scarpetta

DWTS Season 11 enters its eighth week of competition tonight (Nov 8) and thus, the Bristol Palin enigma continues.

'Bristol the Pistol' has taken aim & shot down better qualified & much more fiercely talented candidates in her quiet wake to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.

But the burning question remains: how does Palin continue to linger on the competition & stir the ire of many DWTS fans who view the show as a talent (not popularity) contest?

While continually scoring at or near the bottom of the Judge's leader board since the onset of Season 11, Palin has somehow beat out competitors who have outscored and outperformed her, i.e., Florence Henderson, Rick Fox, and even Mike The Situation Sorrentino who exited the show at Week 4.

But what is really at the crux of the Bristol Palin matter is not the fact that Palin continues to receive enough votes to stay on DWTS. That part is evident.

The real question is why & where those votes come from. That is, are those votes generated by Sarah Palin supporters, or are they cast because people really like Bristol?

Hopefully, it's because people truly like 'Alaska's Favorite Daughter', find her refreshing and just want to see her win because of who she is.

They sure are, except one Brother is in Idaho freezing. I told them all in NY to get the hell out while the getting is good. NY is not only cold, but is dead, dead, dead and will be bankrupt right behind California.

Went to buy apples in Oak Glen California a few weeks ago. Bought Romes and fresh pressed cider. Last year we went a bit later and bought Arkansas Blacks.... they say this is the apple Walt Disney patterned the apple in Snow White after.

My Grandfather worked in the orchard where we bought our apples.
The Arkansas Blacks are supposed to keep well if stored in a cool environment. When we bought them they kept for about 8 months refrigerated. They are very hard, but good for baking.

I love the Romes... they are just the right tart/sweet combo for my Thanksgiving pies.

Great to read the history of this apple ranch and the area. It is protected under a conservancy and contracts the farming out to the Riley family. My Grandparents came to this farm after WWII when it was still privately owned. The local school house in Oak Glen is a museum... old style one room school that served the community. My Aunt attended this school in the late 1940’s. We always go for apple time in the Fall and in late February after the last snow storm to take the kids for sledding.

I didn’t know this about Jennifer Grey:

Was this accident the source of all her aches and pains, or was it something more recent?

Each star makes an initial $125,000 for signing and rehearsing 3 weeks before the premiere and competing in the first two episodes, even if the cast member is cut after the first dance.

The breakdown for the remaining weeks is $10,000 an episode for Weeks 3 and 4, $20,000 an episode for Weeks 5 and 6, $30,000 an episode for Weeks 7 and 8, and $50,000 an episode for the final two weeks.

Which is pretty much cab fare compared to what the program rakes in for advertising.

Betcha Tom, Hostess Ta-Ta's(Whatshername?), Carrie Ann, Len and Bruno each make more than all that combined per show.

I had a nerve-wracking meeting last night and totally forgot about dancing with the stars. I usually get home in time to vote, at least on line, but I didn’t vote at all.

I understand she was on the bottom scorewise again and have a feeling this will be her week to go.

If so, I congratulate her on daring to try and doing a great job.

She famous for what? Being the daughter of a controversial public figure

You need to pay more attention to government and politics in America, she is the daughter of a recent Governor (until last year) and the most recent vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican party.

oy. Sarah Palin is a HUMAN BEING. I hate to see our side doing to her what the left did to Obama. She’s starting to be overexposed. ENOUGH. She has this 8 part series now on TV. Everytime she shows up on TV in a pop culture way, she loses her chances of being President. THAT IS MY OPINION. Listen, I like her. Because of her, I’m going to be running for office. But It’s too much. It’s too much.

Governor Palin is a recent Governor and the most recent vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican party.

That Governor of Alaska is hosting an 8 part documentary on the wonders of Alaska.

Enough with your weird descriptions and Meghan McCain like attempts at insulting her and her family.
