Must be a generation thing, but I haven’t a clue who Gary Collins is.
Who the heck is GAry Collins? And where is this?
I know who he is - he had a daytime talk show back in the 80’s, and actor, married to a former Miss America, I think.
The Different Strokes curse continues.
daytime show host...orig an actor in shows like The Sixth Sense and Born Free, then “Collins hosted the television talk show Hour Magazine from 1980 to 1988” (Wikipedia)
from same source:
“DUI arrests
“Since 2002, Collins has been charged with three counts of “driving under the influence” of alcohol (DUI). His first arrest came in 2002 in Mississippi; he was found not guilty after a trial. In a second incident in 2007, Collins was involved in an accident caused by another motorist. Responding police officers arrested Collins for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence. According to police, Collins was not at fault in the accident. Collins plead no contest to DUI charges and was sentenced to four days in jail and received four years probation. Collins was charged with a third DUI on Saturday, January 31, 2009 in Montecito, California while driving a motor home. Collins plead no contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence and was sentenced to a 120-day house arrest.
“On November 2, 2010, an affidavit was signed against Collins for leaving the scene of a wreck in Jackson, Mississippi. Cheryl Hayes informed police that a white Jeep plowed into the rear of her vehicle while she was stopped at a traffic light, injuring her and her child. Witnesses gave the license plate number of the Jeep and a description of the driver to police in which police were able to determine the vehicle belonged to Collins and he was the driver”

Seems Gary has been busy.
But you are an old retired Army guy - you should know who Gary Collins is!! I guess I’m older than you or maybe I watched more tv...
This is good enough to get him a guest host spot on the Smoking Gun show.
I can understand why he was driven to drink by the annoying Mary Ann Mobley.
I am more shocked he is still alive than by the accident.
If your heyday was back when Match Game ‘74 was on, you would have a drinking problem too.
Can that be true.? you can’t have two consecutive Miss America’ from the same state?. That’s live making the Saint’s ineligible in the NFL, Lalker’s ineligible in the NBA, Duke ineligible in the NCAA and SF Giant’s ineligible in baseball. This PC BS showed up 50 year’s ago? Gotta be a mistake. It deserved to crash in its most popular form. Beauty pageants are PC as the best looking gals simply don’t win. You can find more appealing ladies in college libraries than in the top 10.
Sounds like he should change his first name to Tom.
Almost looked like a cross dresser in that last one for a minute.
Must be all that leg showing and leather shoes.
He played a clairvoyant/ghost hunter on the 1970s TV show “Night Gallery” in a few episodes. Guess he didn’t see that one coming.
I grew up in MS and when Lynda Lee Mead won the next year, the other states threw a fit. If you will notice there are not 2 consecutive winners from the same state. Unless, they let 2 slip in. We thought it was outrageous because back then most of the most beautiful college girls were from the south. It is not fair to the next winner from a state which has the current MA. I was a teenager when they won and kept a scrapbook of them and had it until a few years ago. I am going to check this just to make sure it has not changed.
