My mother and stepfather love Chihuahuas. They lost Peanut in September of last year at the age of 17. Both were heartbroken, but they said they would wait a while before getting another dog—my mom had broken her ankle over the summer and the healing was a long process.
They started looking a whole 2 months later, LOL. It was decided they would get two puppies—one male and one female (both would be fixed so no more little Chis).
They found two from two different breeders—one long haired female and a short haired male. The female had a sister who was only born with one eye. My parents fell in love with her but stuck to ‘we’re getting two and that’s it.’
My stepdad went to pick up the female dog (Sassy) and somehow ended up bringing her sister home as well, LOL. My mom was not unhappy, thankfully. They now have Sassy, Oreo (the male), and Tuohy (who was named after the family in the movie ‘The Blindside’—pun intended).
Tuohy and Sassy look so much alike you can’t tell which is which from the back—you have to see their faces. Tuohy is as sweet as an angel, but she knows how to defend herself from her sister’s rough play. My kids think the one-eyed look is cool ;)
I guess we are in agreement then, because that is what I suggest by saying the dog no negative sense of feeling. Life is what it is for him, and thus it seems to be OK to say the dog does not feel bad about his situation.
Like you, I do not believe that God gave animals the ability to feel things emotionally. It is what it is with them. That is why a dog will not hold a grudge if you treat them bad. Also why a Chimpanzee will rip the face off a woman, even though he has seemed to like the woman when ever she came over to visit her friend before.
Anyway. We agree.
It’s like the old adage about who you can tell really loves you. Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car and see who’s really happy to see you when you open it.
A bark in the dark
Or an owlbear.
True, the dog would wag her tail and lick my hand.
My wife would.... well you know. Lets just say I would be living alone, because she would take the dog.
"We are only getting one of the puppies"
That’s my fault’s because’s I didn’t look’s at the headline’s, which I will’s from now’s on’s.
You know, sometimes people just wish to find reasons to nit pick regardless of how well one does.
Thanks for you help. Did you enjoy the video?
I am one of those nit pickers, but I try not to annoy anyone with my corrections [anymore]. Proofing for you gives me an outlet for my pedantry. :-)
Yes! That’s a great video, and it looks as if Rowan is happy, healthy, and active, so he’s doing just fine.
Most dogs want hold a grudge, soom will. I know from direct experience, not hearsay.
