Thought I should start an open threat post-election. Some observations:
1: Christie O'Donnell was a disaster. Despite plenty of money she received less votes than the GOP candidate for the Delaware's sole Congressional seat. I knows it pains me to say this but Rove was right. Angel was another huge disappointment. She recevied less votes than the total GOP vote for the Congressional seats in NV. Lets stop running amateurs who provide plenty of material for the likes of SNL and John Stewart.
Related to (1). Strong conservative candidates with experience and good backgrounds did very well for example, Rubio, Paul, Johnson, Kaisch, Portman and Ayotte. None of those candidates had the baggage like O'Donnell and Angel.
3: The New Yorkifaction of Californis is complete. You could of run 2 cardboard cut outs as the GOP candidates and they would of received the same votes as Whitman and Fiornia. The only thing now is to open the popcorn and watch California really hit bottom. I thank God I now live in Old Virginia instead of CA or NY. At least, three Pelosi-Obama lackes went down.
It’s too bad O’Donnell had to run against the establishment GOP as well as the Democrats and the Media Attack Machine. Sharon Angle only underestimated the desperation of the Democrats, who knew the unions would be tracking down there members and forcing them to vote?
Just because the MSM doesn’t like them doesn’t make them bad candidates. “Baggage” is a stupid excuse, who has more baggage than Harry Reid?
Speaking of bad candidates, “We need fewer jobs and more welfare” Brown wins the Governorship of CA? California GOP was saddled with BAD candidates like iCarly and the nutMeg.
Sadly (or not), I think Jerry Browns wish will come true for CA.
....
I think the big story might be the GOP gains in the state legislatures in states like Maine and Wisconsin. In TX the GOP now holds 99 of 150 state House seats, that’s HUGE.
It looks close to my prediction of 60+ House and 7+ Senate
Does anyone know if the Alaska senate race will have a runoff election?
Gotta give us some credit in Michigan Not only did we pick up a few seats for the US house, we ran the table in spectacular fashion in our state government. We took everything from the Governor down to county commissioners.
The Angle one is unusual in that every other seat, the Republicans won, usually by a good margin. Usually those patterns resonate across the state- unless they either really don’t like Angle or really like Reid, something still smells funny there.
The RNC will NEVER get another dime from me.
I agree completely. Both houses in blue Minnesota went to the GOP. That hasn’t happened in a generation!
Now we’ll see if the ‘rats can cheat enough to take the Governorship...At least if Dayton steals it, his hands will be tied.
Didn’t the GOP Chairman of Delaware say he and the party would not support her if she won the primary?
Now that is what I call baggage.
You are absolutely right but that is the hand that we are dealt with and have to take into consideration. The Donkeys and their lackeys in the MSM could not find any dirt with the likes of Rubio, Johnson, etc. We need to be careful not to fall for candidates like O’Donnell who might say the right thing but have some huge skeletons in their closets.
Conservatives control the House and (under it’s rules) the Senate!
An outstanding election!
As for Delaware...
‘pros’ like Rove screwed up the Delaware Republicans so bad over the years it is dishonest to even mention O’Donnell’s role in their failure this year.
Castle WAS the Delaware Republican party and he couldn’t win it’s primary.
They’ll build a viable party there now- more good news!
The plan went to hell. The son did not get to be governor. His step up to the Senate is not possible.
The son had longer coat tails in defeat than his father in apparent victory.
Harry is old.... he is stressed. He will die
Does anyone know whats going on in Alaska? I read that MurkyLousy got 50%, Joe Miller 35%, and the ‘rat 25%. Wassah agoin’ on uppah theyah?
And what a FANTASTIC night for Republicans in Tennessee!! Tennessee has gained 14 seats in the STATE House and 1 in the Senate. For the first time in history, Republicans control the House, Senate with a Republican Governor!! Congrats to all our candidates.
Wonder what happened in other State legislatures?
Right now “Write Ins” are around 50%. They have to count those ballots by hand but it looks like MurkLousy will win.
Someone should look into that Nevada Power Outage.
They are going to have to tally the write in candidates. Write ins got 40% I had heard.
While I'm delighted the house is back, I'm gobsmacked that any Demonrat was re-elected, given what's happened to this country over the past two years.
If those two years of excrement didn't give pause to all voters, I have little hope that this election will matter one bit to save this country, that last night's results will prove to be nothing but a blip on the chart to full-blown socialism.
That the barking mad Al Green, in SC, got 357,000 votes is all the proof I need that a large percentage of the population is similarly insane.
God help us, especially those of us in Massachusetts, who now again suffer Obowamao's mini-me, Patrick, and his collectivist cadre.
GOP took both houses in Minnesota. Woo-hoo! That is a shocker and I’m loving it! As for the governorship, that’s to be determined.
Rove lost Delaware. The GOP lost Delaware. O'Donnell would have won Delaware if only the GOP had not fought tooth and nail to defeat her.
What I say is that people on the ground in states like Delaware and Nevada have a LOT of work to do. They need to start with their local elections and begin to ensure conservative majorities there...and in the state. They need to help educate the citizenry with regard to WHY conservative principles are better for them...and eventually get rid of the leftists who represent them in DC.
The time to begin that work is today!
