Thought I should start an open threat post-election. Some observations:
1: Christie O'Donnell was a disaster. Despite plenty of money she received less votes than the GOP candidate for the Delaware's sole Congressional seat. I knows it pains me to say this but Rove was right. Angel was another huge disappointment. She recevied less votes than the total GOP vote for the Congressional seats in NV. Lets stop running amateurs who provide plenty of material for the likes of SNL and John Stewart.
Related to (1). Strong conservative candidates with experience and good backgrounds did very well for example, Rubio, Paul, Johnson, Kaisch, Portman and Ayotte. None of those candidates had the baggage like O'Donnell and Angel.
3: The New Yorkifaction of Californis is complete. You could of run 2 cardboard cut outs as the GOP candidates and they would of received the same votes as Whitman and Fiornia. The only thing now is to open the popcorn and watch California really hit bottom. I thank God I now live in Old Virginia instead of CA or NY. At least, three Pelosi-Obama lackes went down.
We got some good people in that appear to have some teeth and I expect them to start biting immediately.
The commies have 2 years to utilize the damaging factors that ARE already in place and they WILL activate some of them.
There are still no jobs and there are no plans to build refineries, steel mills, factories, etc.
We are still yet a service nation with no where to employ but in gummint ... THAT is our main problem.
You can't create jobs ... you CAN invent a new widget and employ people to sell, build and deliver them ... THAT is the American economy that needs to be returned.
Drill for oil/NG, refine gasoline, build factories here ... we CAN pay the better wages Americans deserve.
Sure there may have been better candidates, but where were they? Castle was not worth it. We dont need any “republican” covering that much for Libturds. The guy voted for crap-n-trade and was very squishy on Obozocare.
is it true that COD got enough support from Independents to win but the Tokyo Rove Republicans did not come out and vote for her?
Kind of a mixed bag for me...Happy for Rubio in Fl, and hopefully Scott pulls it out. Feel kind of down with Reid winning, I thought he was a goner. Still hoping Miller and Rossi eke out wins.
Overall though a plus, we got the house big time and can now styme further moves to the left. Not having the senate makes any attempt to review already passed into law items hard to redo...they have two shots at it now, one by the up and down vote and the second through the back door of a conference committee.
Every single week, Gov. Palin and C. ODonnell took on Obama and the corrupt DNC.
Meanwhile, Rove attacked the GOP-election-chosen candidate.
In the end, she won independents. Repubs were led away from her
by Rove and his employer.
She would have been Senator TODAY (not January 2011)
had not backstabber Rove attacked, and attacked, and flayed.
Take a look at this video. It turns out O’Donnell carried independents, but not enough Republicans. I blame Rove and other establishment types for her loss, and I won’t forget.
Don’t let vote-by-mail be enacted in your state. Dudley is ahead in Oregon, but we are assured by those in the know that Kitzhaber will pull it out, due to uncounted votes in Multnomah County.
Vote-by-mail allows, at minimum, easy access for the uninformed to vote. It should be opposed.
Maybe they just don’t like old people... :)
Some are saying the silver lining in the dems keeping the Senate is that Obama can’t run against That Evil Republican Congress.
I’m not sure how much silver is in that lining. What do you think?
The Nevada Senate vote needs to be gone over with a fine toothed comb. Stinks to high heaven.
Rove is a self-fulfilling prophesy.
Rove was a major part of why the DE race was about only one candidate, who had to face down her opponent, her opponent’s party, the President, the Vice President, the NRSC, Rove, and all of Hollywood. Chris Coons just had to sit up pretty for Harry Reid.
Finally, I am sick and tired of the idea that “polished politicians” are better than real people. Polished politicians are the very folks who got us into this mess, people.
Reid won because he managed to keep the election local, while Angle was foolish to keep out the press. Coons won because O'Donnell was a horrible candidate. Massachusetts is a liberal state--this is a shock?
How anyone can see the Congress flipping two years after we were told Obama was in for eight years and Obamacare was going to ensure win after win for the left is beyond me.
Repeated application of toilet bowl cleaner may be needed to remove material stuck in place. Barney Frank, Harry Reid
HARRUMPH!!!! And if O'Donnell was as nutty as people say, so what? Just vote her out in two years.
re: Rove was right
Was he, or did he simply voice a self-fulfilling prophecy? His behavior was disgraceful and selfish. He’s one of those ‘small’ people in politics that are all fun and games as long as their side and their ideas are prevailing, but when they find themselves on the other side they become snipers who would rather see a loss than admit they might have been wrong.
It’s fine to support Castle in the primary, but once the voters have spoken he should have kept his opinions to himself. He’s just to small and selfish to do that.
Alas, I think that is probably true. Most Americans attention spans are not that long and they would dole out equal blame in 2012 to the GOP and the Dems if the GOP “ran Congress”.
A GOP victory in the Senate would probably have propelled Obama to re-election, I think.
But I think with enough GOP Senators to stop his agenda entirely, plus the House, he starts to look very, very lame.
I am hopeful that a good, capable, commonsense but committed conservative will take Obama down in 12. Not sure who that is, but I think it is a real possibility...with the right candidate!
(In 8 years or 12...that man is Rubio!!!)
I have to disagree, if the RNC had pulled it’s head out of it’s nether regions, and endorsed Christie O’Donnell, she would have won - easily.
But, for reasons that defy even a mentally retarded child - the RNC stubbonly refused to accept a person nominated and backed by the Tea Party. I honestly believe that a great many voters simply voted the RNC straight ticket, thinking (in error) that they were also voting for O’Donnel.
So, instead of adding a Tea Party conservative to the roster - the RNC decided to “Show us who is boss”.
To call this juvenile behavior, is to insult every hormonally unbalanced 13 yr old girl in the country. Why can’t we flush the fecal matter that fills the leadership of the RNC?

She got 2,000 less votes than the so called “normal” republican running statewide (only 1 congressional seat so entire state votes) after dealing with Rove’s attacks and relentless negative press.
173k-123k Odonell
173k-125k GOP (statewide)congressman
I’ll stick with the 46.
That's true. But, remember that “O” walked into the WH with the Rev. Wright ‘baggage’ and some other truly objectionable associations (which he has retained) and no one called him on it.
So I think the Republicans who fielded the losing candidates you mentioned may be forgiven their assumption that WE could promote flawed candidates AS WELL!!!
Guess it's such an institutionalized double standard that NO ONE even mentions it any more. “O’s” baggage should be front and center at ALL times!!!!!
Wish we could have taken out Barrow and Bishop in GA- then it would have been a rout. I was also disappointed in how badly Fenn Little did against John Lewis.
