I dunno. Did you hear Jobs rant on about 7in tablets @ the Apple financial conf. call a few week ago. He did not sound like a scared man.

Moreover, the problem any Android tab is going to have is that manufacturers are 1) able to incorporate one of many version and 2) modify them at free will. That means not every Android app will work w/ ever Android device. That is a prob. for users and developers alike.

Case in point, the 10 incher here runs Android 1.6. At the least it should come with 2.2 although Google has acknowledged that it won’t be until the next release that Android will be designed to run on tablets.

job's job is to stand on a soap box and sell liver pills... his rants have been proved false at times. Apple will lose this battle just like the Iphone has lost the battle. “droids are now seen 10 to 1 around these parts... bought one myself yesterday... and will buy a Windows 7 phone in the future.

James Cameron and Google CEO: Questioning Warming Science is “Criminal”

Continuing to support Droid is supporting the idea that those of us who believe Global Warming is junk - are criminals.

7 inch tablets have been in the US for years now.

I have a Gigabyte M704. It runs XP. It’s five years old.

If Jobs is a carnival barker as you describe him then why are some many companies intent on copying Apple? Why did you buy an Android phone which is a knockoff of iOS? Apple reinvented the entire smartphone category. That’s a bit more than vaporware liver pills.

iPhone has lost a battle? It just bumped up ahead of BB in market share. Not sure how that is a loss. One iPhone comes to VZ it’s only going to grow larger at the expense of Android phones.

But lets not get off topic — this thread was about the 7” Android tablet. I don’t see any sweat beading off Apple’s noses. iOS 4.2 is set to be released in a week or so with AirPlay and wireless printing. Apple is hardly sitting on it’s laurels. Well see if Android can eclipse the iPad, but my bet would be not. We’ll see.

They already won. Apple has what, $50,000,000,000 in cash? They win. Remember the iPad was supposed to be a disaster? Same with the iPhone and iPod. The iTunes store, what a joke. Remember?

Jobs saw the future and has out foxed everyone. The distribution of media content is where Apple has trumped everyone. The entertainment industry knows that they have a winner in Apple. I am sure Apple does not mind selling tv, music and movies to droid, or zune. They took simple ideas and innovated, created and improved what were generally crappy experiences before.

If the battle was lost, why in the hell is every company following their lead? Thumbs up to an American company showing the rest of world what we are capable of. I am happy to see American greatness still exists in companies like Apple.

Why did you have to introduce a personal attack to try to support your phone? Making a mockery of another American because of his brush with death due to cancer is pathetic. The man has grown an amazing company even while he was “selling liver pills”.

Apple knows that a mere 7 inches is just not going to satisfy its customers!

I did not attack anyone personally. I can prove what I say about Jobs being wrong in the past. No need... I am certain that you know that and Gates himself has been wrong many times. I did not lie about anything. I own several pieces of Apple gear... and they are profitable... but they are far from dominate. PC’s outnumber them worldwide so badly that they have NO hope of ever being dominant in that market... and Android is outselling Iphone tremendously. Apple is a company and a product... not a religion.

With 95% of the tablet market, I don’t think Apple is afraid of this gadget.

You could have said the same thing about Microsoft over ten years ago.

Look, you did go personal and that is uncalled for concerning this subject. I am sure Jobs would not have chosen cancer if he had any say in the matter.

Of course Jobs has been wrong in the past, everyone of us has been wrong and will be wrong again. Today he looks to be right.

Unfortunately for you apparently, Apple is dominant, that is why they are out front and everyone else is following. They are not a religion, you point out the obvious, but they are a successful American company that is driving the market. Be grateful that it is not Sony or some other foreign company. We need all the successful American companies we can get, there are too few these days.

I own Apple products... I am not anti Apple... but Jobs is a socialist and he is not a nice man and he is not infallible... and neither is Apple. They may be profitable but they are not and will never be dominant... and some here do worship Apple.

I agree, but they got complacent. Microsoft needs to radically change or they are GM part two. The lesson learned is that Apple needs to continue to produce a high quality product or they too will be surpassed by someone, a Korean or Chineese company, and we do not need that.

MSFT has almost $56 billion in current assets versus $36 billion for Apple.
