Oh I did have a good day Yorkie. My oldest daughter took me to lunch.
Then I had my piano tuned for my BD! LOL... after which another daughter came by with cheese cake ( my favorite) and gifts, flowers, etc. It was a great day.

I did have to work for a hour with grandson on homework assignments...sigh. He was sick all week last week and the make up work is killing me! Oh the joys of raising a grandson when you are old! lol

Now time to rest.

Thanks again. You made my day complete.

Polly

Slice size depends on how much of the frosting I must scrape off.

Is it buttercreme, whipped cream, or meringue? ;)

I know what you mean, JC. I always try to be 'up' when the kids call.

I asked my DIL one time - what does your mother (80 years old) and her friends talk about, when they get together?

Her response didn't surprise me at all:

Two words was her reply: "Their ailments"!

I made the decision - to never discuss my 'aches and pains' with my kids at that moment.

What good would it do?

When I hang up the phone, I want to smile, knowing they had a pleasant talk with Mom. (And knowing they look forward to talking with me again - and soon!)

“Slivers” are for wussies. REAL women take a generous slice - (and if no one is looking - they eat the WHOLE thing!)

I’m really not picky, but, I prefer non-dairy whipped cream. :) It’s so creamy and wonderful, ya know?

Where Do I Start?
November 10, 2010

Several years ago, I was driving down the freeway when my car died. I pulled over to the side of the road, got out of the car, and opened the hood. As I looked at the engine I thought, A lot of good this does me. I know nothing about cars. I don’t even know where to start!

That’s how we might sometimes feel about prayer: Where do I start? That’s what the disciples wanted to know when they asked Jesus, “Teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1). The best place to look for instruction is in the example and teaching of Jesus. Two questions you may have are:

Where should we pray? Jesus prayed in the temple, in the wilderness (Luke 4), in quiet places (Matt. 14:22-23), in the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22), and on the cross (Luke 23:34,46). He prayed alone and with others. Look at His life, follow His example, and pray wherever you are.

What should we pray? In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught us to ask that God’s name be honored and that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Ask Him for your daily provisions, for forgiveness of sin, and for deliverance from temptation and evil (Luke 11:2-4).

So if you’re looking for a good place to start, follow the example of the Lord’s Prayer.

The Lord has shown us we can pray
Wherever we may be;
And when we say, “Your will be done,”
His work on earth we’ll see. —Sper

If Jesus needed to pray, how can we do less?

The Penguin

I am a bird you know quite well,
All dressed in black and white.
And even though I do have wings
They're not designed for flight.

I waddle, waddle, waddle,
On my funny little feet.
Across the icy snow I go
To find a fishy treat!

Good morning, Everyone.
Happy WF Wednesday.

Mr Just went to school with Marissa this morning.
The PTA was sponsoring a "Donuts with Dad" morning.

He has a doctor appt this morning.
I need to go with him so I won't be here for awhile, but I should be back early afternoon.

We've had some cold mornings and one morning of fog.
Sigh ..... I guess fall is fading fast.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.
