I think we need to spend much more. Did we hurt their feelings by doing the first study? I know FOR A FACT that if I do not conduct a multi-million dollar research project with the extra bells and whistles and a luxurious yacht ..that there is NO WAY that we will EVER find out if we hurt the feelings of cestacians and those other thingies that swim around. Anyone who has gone fishing in Florida knows this is a non-truth.
I can't think of a time that I have gone fishing inshore or offshore that dolphins haven't been lurking around the boat to grab my throwbacks or baitfish.
They are very wiley and show their son and daughter dolphin how to get my snapper bait off the hook without getting hooked themselves.
Actually, it is quite amazing to watch them work.
Once I threw back a 10 lb Crevelle Jack only to see the dolphin that was hovering around the boat grab it and come up right next to the boat with the Jack in its mouth. It looked like a scene out of Jaws except the dolphin was saying thanks!
