Down the the Yankees, oh yeah!
I'm hoping the WS matchup is the Rangers vs. the Gnats [sic]. A TEXAS team taking it to one from the most liberal area in the country would be sweet.
Scorched Yanqui Pot Roast - Sweeeeeeeet!
Either philly or NYC is the ultra liberal. Bush’s team beat one NYC, hope they can do the next ultra lib.
“World Series party at my house..”
Date, time, address?
Yeah, we got a good laugh out of that as well. I've heard that chant in a lot of ball parks this year (both in person and on TV)... not just at Fenway. ;-)
I can remember back in 1961 when any of us kids got a Washington Senator baseball card we would be severly disapointed.
Woo Hoo!!!! Love the Rangers!!!!!
Congrats! anyone but the Yankees.
Yup, they really do. Mariano, Hip Hip Jorge Posada, Jeter... they're getting up there in age.
Go Rangers! What a classy team...
I’m not impressed with Philly’s offense, they’ve got great pitching, though.
I remember as a kids we would hang out at the old Arlington Stadium until the 7th inning when they would let us in for free.
As a fellow Dallasite, whose been firmly on the bandwagon, since day 1 of this year, BAM YANKEES, take that.
Here in DFW, you could hear the scream all the way from NY every time TBS showed President Bush on tv.
This series is going to be a precursor to the upcoming elections: total domination by the conservative, hardworking state over the elitest bums from the northeast.
Yup, I told my wife when that last out was made, “Mark Holtz is looking down from heaven and is shouting: “HE STRUCK HIM OUT - HELLO WIN COLUMN - HELLO WORLD SERIES””
Saw him in person once right before a home game. What a play by play genius. Sure do miss him.
Congratulations Rangers. Way to Go!!!
Thank you Nolan Ryan for finally getting the pitching we needed.
My husband and I have a bit of a soft spot for David Murphy, who came up through the Red Sox farm system. Over the years we cheered for him as a Portland (Maine) Sea Dog (AA), a Pawtucket (RI) Red Sox (AAA) player, and finally as a member of the Boston Red Sox. We spoke to him at batting practice at Fenway a few months ago when the Rangers were in town (he signed a ball for us). NICE guy, and we're so happy for him!
If you are in East Texas and willing to supply beer and help clean up, FReepmail me.
At the old stadium? I remember actual bleachers back then, that’s where we usually ended up since it was nearly free.
The new stadium is pretty great. I wish I had pics of the old one though, it had a weird charm to it. I remember almost every night at games in the 80’s there were drunken fights in the bleachers.
And when Josh Hamilton accepted the ALCS MVP, he gave thanks to God and Jesus Christ, FIRST!!! Then, he redirected the credit to the rest of his team. As I listened, the one word that echoed through my mind was: REDEMPTION!!!
Josh Hamilton nearly destroyed his life with alcohol, but he was redeemed through His love and grace and given a second chance at this life. Josh has done good. He loves this team and they love him. How much? So much so the team celebrated their first playoff series win with non-alcoholic beverages, just so Josh could be a part of the celebration.
Sorry to ramble on.
