Puppy Linux is loaded!

I am having a problem unzipping Scorched 3D from its .rmp file, I downloaded unrmp.pet but I do not know how to get it to work.

A lot of people are critical when they find out that I have ALL my machines set up to do a dual boot. I can boot XP/2K and on each machine I have a second partition with good ole WinME.

If I’m suspicious about software, I copy it to a machine that I don’t use for internet connectivity and try it on the ME partition.(if possible)

The lat time I actually picked up an infection that was malicious was back in like 2003, and that was easy to fix, I just scrubbed the machine and rebuilt it.

Good news! But remember what I posted about Macrium Reflect.

It is a real bacon saver. It's saved mine on several occasions. With Macrium as your DR solution, you won't lose a single byte of data.

If you’re running Windows Vista or 7, then you don’t need third party software to create a backup image of your computer. Just use the “Backup and restore” function that’s built in. It works great. Save the image to your PHD and reload from it if necessary.

You should always keep work product, pictures and music to dvd disks, an external HD and have your disks to again install all programs.

No matter what, there is no quick fix, but computers seem to suffer those problems less often these days.

I'll go one further. My back ups are in two sets. One at my house with the machines on an external HD. Another copy is kept at my parents house. Back ups are great but stuff you absolutely never want to loose should be stored on disk media which you yourself control {IOW not a corporate freebee space} and stored off premises in event of flood, fire, etc.

Puppy Linux is loaded!

Great to hear!

Next step is to read the documentation they have. I can't help much more as I have no experience with Puppy or their package formats.

Good Luck and happy experimenting!

I kind of like the way it looks, silver icons on a blue background. Their touchpad software is extremely sensitive though. I have to find out how to change that.

very cool

I have decided to try other free Linux types on live discs and I will definitely be downloading a few games. I get bored now and then.
