A postcard sent to a freshman Ruth Webber at Farmington State Teachers College, currently the University of Maine at Farmington, took 64 years to reach the campus mailroom. After receiving the card Monday on the Farmington campus, Ruth Webber McGary holds the card above her college yearbook photo.

I recently received an email that was sent in 1964. I guess it got tangled up in some mailserver. [/jk]

Hope they find out where it’s been. I’m missing a lot of socks.

This is not postal, but an associate of mine responded to an e-mail I sent him 2 years ago. I e-mailed him back and said I could not remember the information then I looked at the date and it was from 2008. He is our computer swami and could not explain where the e-mail had been for so long. Weird.

Parallel universe that occasionally intertwines with this one. Socks, pens, sunglasses, keys are most susceptible.

Probably arrived with a “Postage Due” sticker on it.

Wonder if the post office charged the school for the extra postage due.

It was sitting next to a lone shoe on the side of the road.

Don’t forget remote controls too.
To: JoeProBono
I guess the increase in postage rates is to cover the cost of storing the mail . . .

I’m curious what was written on it.
Was it sent by her lover from 1946, who probably figured she didn’t want to see him anymore?
From where was it sent? Is the sender still there?
Is he/she having a great time?
Does he/she wish she were there?
Did it say, “I’m staying for a few weeks more, can you feed my dog?”
Was it a request for more $$ to get home?
Important stuff.

McCain’s absentee ballot votes should be delivered by Dec 23rd, 2079.
