A mother feeding the ducks with her two children was stunned when she was told off by a council warden - for giving the birds 'unhealthy' white bread.
Lisa Taplin, 34, was told by the park ranger to bring granary or wholemeal bread next time as it was better for the ducks.

Maybe we need this here too. Michelle can be the food police and Biden can call the monitors "stimulus jobs".

I'm waiting for the day when the long suffering British people have finally had enough of these busy-body Council types and begin beating them to within an inch of their lives when they do crap like this.

Anybody can tell you that feeding wild animals at all is detrimental to them. It teaches them to be dependent to the point that their survival skill are impaired and they’re at the mercy of the whim of those who feed them. It’s like welfare.

The UK government is firing 500,000 of these pukes tomorrow.
The ducks will be relieved, and actually, they'll be relieving themselves like Giant Canada geese once they can get back to eating real bread!

I’m surprised they still let people feed the ducks. I used to feed the swans in Kensington Gardens on the last day of my London visits. A sort of ritual. Last time I went to the Serpentine, there were signs all over: DON’T FEED THE SWANS. Oh, well. They were nasty, anyway.

Well white bread isn’t good for anyone and in my opinion it’s worse than alcohol.
But Geeze, they are just ducks. Let them eat whatever they want, like they do when we aren’t around.
At least with White bread it’s fortified with iron and still has fiber, which has to be good for pushing all that other crap out.

I used to be friends with a veterinarian and we were in his boat and I wanted to feed the ducks and he absolutely forbid it saying it was the worst thing I could do!

Perhaps the ducks will express their thanks in an appropriate manner to the park warden.

These are ducks. In ponds. In England. People feed them bread.
If people didn't feed the ducks bread they'd leave the ponds in England and fly off somewhere else.
These animals are not easily distracted from the mission of eating everything they love to eat. They have no identity crises, nor do they become dependent ~ unless there are some Muscovy or Peking ducks around, and then they'll stick around just to listen to the quacks.
I used to raise ducks as a child and can speak duck well enough to get them to come down out of the sky and check me out.

I hope she told the warden to stuff the bread where the sun don’t shine.

Wait until the park ranger finds out about the sodium content.
Whole grain bread contains more fiber than white bread. What's the downside if a duck gets less fiber in their diet? They already poop in water.

You are right. Not only is it bad for the wild animals all the bread and food attracts rats. People leave food out for wild animals should be shot in the ass with a pellet gun.

All animals have the potential to be welfare queens. My backyard birds hang out all day waiting for me to give them their seed and my cat is currently sleeping in my bed - waiting for her evening meal.

... so you shot the duck and ate it for dinner.

The way the economy is going, we all may need to take a duck home.
