Dancing With the Stars week 5 performance show is Oct. 18, and it could mean that Bristol Palin is eliminated on Oct. 19. The past two weeks have seen her and dancing partner Mark Ballas consistently at the bottom of the weekly scoreboard.
Both times Palin and Ballas have been just ahead of the lowest scoring couple, getting saved each week, despite being placed in jeopardy by the combination of judges' scores and audience home votes.
Last week, Palin and Ballas were eighth place out of nine couples, just ahead of The Situation and Karina Smirnoff during week 4 of Dancing With the Stars. It was down to these two couples at the end of the show, and it was The Situation and Smirnoff who were sent home.
The previous week, Palin and Ballas were just ahead of Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel, but it was Cho and Van Amstel who went home. Now all of the low-scoring couples have been voted off the show, leaving Palin and Ballas very vulnerable at the bottom of the scoring so far this season.
As with any reality competition show, things can shift from week to week, and it could lead to Palin and Ballas putting up their best scores of the season.
So far in the season, Palin and Ballas have averaged a score of 18 out of 30, which isn't good by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe this is the week where they really impress the judges, though, making their elimination a rash prediction.
The Oct. 18 Dancing With the Stars performance begins at 8 p.m. on ABC, with the promotions for the show stating that they will all be dancing to TV theme songs.

Does Derek automatically get the best dancers or do they pick names out of a hat?
I agree...
Anyone would be happy to dance as well as Florence at the age of 76.
You must be...:)

“The producers go into a room with the casting directors and decide what story lines and pairs will be the most interesting. I imagine someone also is considering height of the partners as another factor too.”
I don’t know but I think Bristol thought she should have went home. But, the kid Kyle is worse than she is, and Florence was definitly better than him.
WooHoo. I just got in so didn’t see the show, this is most excellent news. Did she seem surprised? After taking such a big risk last night I bet next week will be a breeze for her!
In that case, I’ll keep voting for Kurt Warner and his cute red headed Russian partner. I love them. Not only was Kurt a Marine, but he also started the First Things First foundation.
Don’t know, but I’ve always assumed the winner of the previous year gets the first choice dance partner the following year,
Bristol seemed shocked and delighted!
Derek had fabulous Nicole last year as his partner. Did he win the year before that?
It would be so interesting to see Derek partner with a woman who had never danced.

Star got the vibe...Golden Boy is just a Child of the Corn.
I believe so. Brooke (the current female emcee) was his partner in 2008.
PLASTIC???
I’ve never seen one before.
