Dancing With the Stars week 5 performance show is Oct. 18, and it could mean that Bristol Palin is eliminated on Oct. 19. The past two weeks have seen her and dancing partner Mark Ballas consistently at the bottom of the weekly scoreboard.
Both times Palin and Ballas have been just ahead of the lowest scoring couple, getting saved each week, despite being placed in jeopardy by the combination of judges' scores and audience home votes.
Last week, Palin and Ballas were eighth place out of nine couples, just ahead of The Situation and Karina Smirnoff during week 4 of Dancing With the Stars. It was down to these two couples at the end of the show, and it was The Situation and Smirnoff who were sent home.
The previous week, Palin and Ballas were just ahead of Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel, but it was Cho and Van Amstel who went home. Now all of the low-scoring couples have been voted off the show, leaving Palin and Ballas very vulnerable at the bottom of the scoring so far this season.
As with any reality competition show, things can shift from week to week, and it could lead to Palin and Ballas putting up their best scores of the season.
So far in the season, Palin and Ballas have averaged a score of 18 out of 30, which isn't good by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe this is the week where they really impress the judges, though, making their elimination a rash prediction.
The Oct. 18 Dancing With the Stars performance begins at 8 p.m. on ABC, with the promotions for the show stating that they will all be dancing to TV theme songs.

Oh I voted, I totally went ACORN last night..voted 50 times online, and about 30 by phone..used different phones LOL but according to that site that is supposed to be pretty accurate don’t like her chances, if she stays I’ll eat my shoe I would be THAT shocked
It is truly amazing that they didn’t make the poor girl wait until the last minute!
SHE’s safe! She still hasn’t dance the waltz....Next week they must do two contrasting dances...Must they both be new dances? One new, one old? Or two they have performed previously. Hope she gets good music, dances etc. A a “pretty” dress.
ARE U SERIOUS..she is SAFE OMG I gotta go eat that shoe now LOL
I totally put my foot in my mouth with my last statement, I thought for SURE she would be out..I gotta go find my shoe so I can eat it LOL
Good for you! We excelled!
We think so much alike and I guess we talk the same too.
It’s uncanny.
Vote like democrats and pray like good conservative Christians and Jews, (I am including our Sarah Barracuda and others of the Jewish faith here),
Be sure to add lots of butter . . . LOL
Wow, Bristol and Mark are safe tonight — here’s hoping it’s a sign, a sample of the power of people that will be voting Nov. 2
I am still SHOCKED that she made it..I guess that web site that had her in the bottom was a total crock, its usually pretty accurate..I am really happy she made it!
I wonder who’s going tonight? Florence?
I not watching because I haven’t been home. You are kidding me. She made it?
Great, I hope next week she finally gets a good dance and a really pretty costume.
Exactly right. They didn't give her the best costumes, by any measure.
WE VOTE!
I AM MORE SHOCKED THAT THE SHOW ANNOUNCED HER AND MARK “SAFE” AT THE START OF THE SHOW!!!!
As I recall from previous years, they can do one of the dances that they did well in if they want, plus a new dance.
I miss another aspect of the show that they do not have on any longer which is all of the dancers do a routine together. That always was my favorite part of the show.
I missed it, late, turning the channel. This is great, they didn’t make her suffer til the end of the show and she dances again.
It must be...
Dial Idol said it was too close to call
