The vicious fish jumped into her kayak and bit her in the chest
A woman is hospitalized after being bitten in the chest by a barracuda while kayaking in the Florida Keys.
The Coast Guard says the 45-year-old woman and a male companion were kayaking Sunday evening near Big Pine Key when the fish jumped into the vessel and bit her.
The man told emergency dispatchers that he could not row the two-person kayak to shore without causing further harm to the woman.
The Coast Guard says paramedics administered first aid to the woman, who appeared to have suffered a possible punctured lung and broken ribs.
The woman was transported to shore and flown to a Miami hospital in stable condition.
bet she was wearing a shiny necklace.
Oh what?!?! The SAME fish?? The SAME lady? Both in the chest?!?!
Nevermind....
I expect to see the same headline on November 3.
This time the story will be about Nancy Pelosi being attacked by Sarah Palin.
That’s one scary fish!
Oh.. so it’s NOT Lisa Murkowski.
I’ve caught those things before offshore from Louisiana. They’re vicious and very boney.
Snorkeling around Utila Island Keys in Honduras I noticed the barracudas were very common and ranged in size from two to almost five feet. They move their mouths showing off those teeth and making it look like they want to bite something and soon.
Standard cuda procedure: Never ware anything shinny while swimming neat cudas. Don’t carry a speared fish close to your body. If the cuda is your size or bigger, you go away. If the cuda is smaller than you are they will almost always go away, if they don’t go away, YOU go away.
I mostly free dive. I can get down to about 70’ most of the time. While on SCUBA I don’t know how many times I have felt “eyes” on me and turned around carefully to cuda looking at my regulator. A shiny wrist watch also isn’t a good idea!
That cuda is as close as one I turned turned to face when diving once.
