Believe it or not, even in the age of Obama and Pelosi there are still "Yellow Dog Democrats." Incredible.
Why don't these "conservative" "I'm not like the national Dems" Dems just start their own party? Evidently they can never forgive Mr. Lincoln for kicking their fannies, but that doesn't explain why they insist on being fully affiliated with the national Democrat party.
Any thoughts?
There aren’t very many in Congress anymore but there are a lot of Democrat voters who do not believe the same way as the socialists running their party now.
They need to launch a Moderate Party, lol.
They had a chance to prove their conservative bona fides, and they didn't when it really mattered.
If the past two years proved anything its that every democrat is a yellow dog democrat.
I thought that a ‘Blue Dog Democrat’ was a supposedly moderate-conservative member of the party and a ‘Yellow Dog Democrat’ was someone who is so totally devoid of critical thought that they would literally vote for a yellow dog before they voted for a Republican or Independent.
I think you are correct about that. "Yellow Dog Democrat" wasn't making sense to me until I saw your comment.
I’d hate to see a single one of these b*stards walk away from their support of the Kenyan Kommie’s marxist leadership over the past 2 years by suddenly casting themselves a ‘conservative democrat’ a month before the election.
I don’t think that’s going to work this time....
You’re right re: blue dog and yellow dog Dems.
Here’s a good wiki article explaining their history and supposed ideology.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Dog_Coalition
Years ago TX Gov. Mark White took a yellow dog with him to the polls...and got his one term yellow dog tail kicked.
As my name indicates, I live amongst alot of old time yellow dog democrats. Many of them are dying off but some of their children are carrying on the tradition. My parents were yellow dogs but out of nine children, I would guess 2-3 remained democrats.
They believe the main stream media. Their voting guide is X beside the Democrat box at the top of the ticket. They will say the Republicans are the party of the rich. One of the older people I knew retold the tale of his family leaving their plantation in Alabama for Texas. The family plantation and most of the contents were being auctioned at the time. Carpet baggers= Republicans, still resented. It seems more like a game for them and they are rooting for their team. They can be real smart As about their “beliefs” too. Some really are liberal and some are just tradition bound. They say Democrats are the friend to the farmer. But they don’t know the Democrats best friend-environmentalists-would like to do away with people and let these vast stretches of land go back to nature. These are my opinions and observations for what they are worth.
No specific issue or political choice can be decided without reference to this principle and, ususally, some resentful reflection on the unfairness that one has suffered at the hands of the people who stepped on you -- management, white people, men, banks, businesses, and so on.
Exactly. My question is, why don't they?
good question
No, I mean yellow dog democrat. Evidently you don't know what that means.
It doesn't refer to members of Congress, candidates, or even politicians. It refers to the nose-picking boneheads who vote for Barack Obama because "Daddy was a Democrat and Granddaddy was a Democrat and Great Granddaddy was a Democrat and the Republicans burnt our planatation!"
Okay. They can't become Republicans without dishonoring their ancestors. But why do they stay with the national Democrat party? Why doesn't belonging to the same party as Pelosi and Obama "dishonor their ancestors?"
Exactly.
I think you mean blue dog democrat ...
I think you are correct about that. "Yellow Dog Democrat" wasn't making sense to me until I saw your comment.
Wrong. See my post #14.
It would've helped if you'd specified 'voters' in your vague posting.
Again, see my post 14. I'm referring to voters, not candidates.
Yes, but you didn't answer my question. I didn't ask why these people don't become Republicans; I asked why don't they form a separate party where they can be "old time Democrats" and neither Pelosi radicals nor Republican "carpetbaggers."
I wouldn't have thought so. There were "yellow dog Democrats" long, long, long before there were "blue dog" Democrat politicians.
Anyone from the South would have understood immediately.
