The United States in an effort to stop Russia from reaching a port in the Middle East (via an Afghanistan invasion) decided to aim it's intelligence agency right at that region.

Worried what might happen to the Arab Peninsula if the Russians succeeded in their invasion the Saudis Funded the Afghan freedom fighters.

I don't know who you think "our" people are. My people are the American people. I took the time to observe both political parties and their followers. Due to my Christian upbringing and my Christian faith, I naturally gravitated to the Republican party and I never noticed nor cared about the race of its leaders and its participants. All I know is that I prefer to work for what I get and life is a lot easier when one obeys the law, takes responsibility for one's actions and treats others as one would like to be treated.

Heck the girls I date are variously Black, Mexican, Asian, White, A Persion a while back, wait, make that two. I went out with her cousin once and a Couple of Jewish Girls a few years ago.

Not that it made any difference. They were interesting, intelligent, funny as hell and a couple of times I will admit I was just plain drunk. But they were fun and nice girls.

I also blame Carter. Ronald Reagan helped Saddam beat on the Iranians. I think Carter and Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2 all could have continued to help Saddam beat on the Iran and the Islamic regimes all around. It would take a SECULAR Dictator to control the foaming at the mouth Islamists. I would have been happy if Saddam took over all the Arab nations, and FORCED them to be more tolerant and more civilized than what they are today. For example, if you look at Syria, it is much more tolerant of the Christians, and much more secular than Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan,...Dictatorship is the only way to govern these lawless religion fanatics.
