With the election coming up, I thought it would be fun to post this to get a feel for everyone's numbers. I'll start with mine:
Economic Left/Right: 8.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.23
Smack-dab in Milton Friedman territory. Cool!
Some of the questions are a bit odd...what does one's belief in astrology or opinion of abstract art have to do with anything? That being said, it's still one of the better quizzes out there. An X/Y axis is a much better way of describing political viewpoints than the traditional left/right scale.
This test is quite biased from the left. They have that nonsensical slant that reveals this.
For instant, there are many questions asking if multinational corporations are exploiting people but I see few asking about government entities overcontroling people.
It must be because I am actually an off the scale right wing extremist without the bias.
Well, to be fair it’s supposed to be a test that applies to the politics of any country, and the mainstream of (for instance) European politics is considerably to the left of American politics.
And, it shows exactly how the Tea Party, for instance, is different from anything else on the political scene: I'm Libertarian Right BTW.
Okay, on their scale, pretty much every current day European leader sits squarely in the center-right portion of their graph. The scale is created by a group of Scottish socialists and their origin is skewed far to the left. It seems avowed communists are the only group which find themselves in the 2nd or 3rd quadrant of the political compass. Not to mention their vertical scale is completely messed up.
Although I think the questions were loaded, they probably are for both sides.
I ended up being about 2 to the right, and -1 toward libertarian.
But some of this was personal opinion, and I don’t really want to impose my personal opinion on others.
I also think we on the right are probably going to find our selves leaning more and more to the libertarian side of the chart.
Too many strangely worded questions.
