The Seasonal Flu Vaccine A seasonal vaccine is distributed routinely every year.
Unlike last flu season, when you needed to get two vaccines, the 2009 H1N1 and the seasonal vaccine, this flu season you only need the seasonal vaccine. The 2010-2011 flu vaccine protects against an influenza A H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the 2009 H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season.

If I wanted to protect myself from the flu, I would have no alternative this year but to take the mixed vaccine.
No vaccines for our family. Thanks anyway!
My wife got the shot two weeks ago. No problems.
Just so you’ll know.
Last year the hospital where my wife works mandated all staff receive the H1N1 or wear a mask for 3 months.
They dropped the policy within a couple of weeks because the doctors REFUSED to take the H1N1 vaccine.
Just sayin
Sounds like the doctors may have been a little chicken. I know....that was a fowl comment to make....Bad news is I've already taken the shot, so I guess my goose is cooked.....(why do I have the sudden urge to run across the road?) ;-)
Is the sky falling? Just thought I’d ask.
I had my flu shot yesterday. Other then the usual sore arm I’m fine. I think its a good idea to get the shot it cuts down on sick time.
I don’t want to sound like I’m subscribing to some sort of conspiracy, but when the government tries to force the H1N1 vaccine on folks last year with abbreviated testing, then to realize few wanted to take the risk, they come back this year and mix it with the seasonal vaccine and tell folks...either you take this or you have no alternative.
Kinda causes my hackles to raise up.
I’ve never had the flu that I remember. May have had it as a child, but I doubt it. I will not take the flu shot ever. There is nothing wrong with an otherwise healthy person being down with the flu and staying home for a few days, imo. Others may disagree on grounds of not being able to afford to stay home, and that’s fine. I take supplements to boost my immune system and haven’t been sick in over 7 years so I’m not worried.
Take vitamin D-3 supplements or spend time under a proper sunlamp this winter and neither the flu nor colds will discomfort you nor will you be subject to the political and health side effects of the vaccine. My wife is a teacher and always used to bring home all the virii that her kids brought to school. Last school year we took 10,000 units of D-3 each per day and neither of us got anything respiratory for the whole school term. And it was cheaper than the shots.
You have an alternative, a vastly superior alternative. It is sunshine. With winter making it harder to get the sunshine vitamin D-3, take it as supplements. You will miss all that flu and colds and stuff.
Yes, the sky is falling. Everyone will drop dead again this year because of the flu, just like everyone dropped dead last year because of the flu.
Just an fyi ... my comment was in response to OB1's continuted fowl references.
You and me both. Anything that comes out of this regime shouldn’t be trusted.
