Oh, for Pete’s sake. My 96-year old great, great Aunt hid outside last summer for several hours, awaiting the arrival of a skunk that she had seen prowling about her yard for several nights.
She shot him dead with one shot...without shooting herself.

This man didn’t know the proper procedure of pointing the weapon at his foot and pulling the trigger when unsure if the weapon is unloaded. Hence the expression, “He shot himself in the foot.”
