OK Campers.

It begins:

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: cod; teaparty
(not bad for a beginner, whom every leftist in America is attacking)

Nice. Grab some popcorn, this campaign could get interesting.

Very good start. :)

She is on the air way too late. she needed to have an effective organization up and running within a week, she didnt do it.

She needed to fire back at her critics. She refused to go on Fox News Sunday..

I love her politics, but what the hell was she thinking

I think mentioning the witch thing is silly. It’s a distraction. Why bring it up?

Fox News would have been a good appearance. Taking her organization a while to catch up to her success.

She’s being modest, and clearly has a good sense of humor.

It’s a very nice commercial.

She seems genuine, and likable. That’s a good start.

Relax.

From that commercial, it’s pretty clear she’s got some very professional people now on her campaign.

She’s off to a very good start.

I like the ad. Deal with it and move on, as they used to say...

She hired a good ad agency and she’s good.

She refused to go on Fox News Sunday..

She had reasons -- schedule conflicts, exhaustion from the primary campaign (I didn't say they were good reasons).

The real reason came two days later on Hannity when in response to a question she said she needs to spend all her time with voters in Delaware --- and Hannity added not with with the national press which is only trying to destroy her. She said she was in NY on other business (which may have been meeting with the ad agency to plan those campaign ads) and that was the only reason she appeared with Hannity on Fox.

She did the right thing by not doing national news...Delaware is a small state, meeting the local people and key leaders is more important..it’s definitely not over. The debate is Oct 13 and Coons is not perceived as likable when people see and meet him, O’Donnell is more personable. Most politicians blitz the air ways the last 30 days to create a tidal wave effect....no in fact it’s far form over

Correct. They might call them United States Senators, but they are not Senators of the United States. they are Senators of a State - In this case: Delaware.

She’s right to concentrate on her state. They’re the only ones that matter, despite what the rest of us in the other 49 (or is it 57 - im so confused) states might think.

thx

“I’m not a witch...” doesn’t sound like the best way to start a campaign for the U.S. Senate. The middle part was fine. Talking about back room deals and such. The ending was not a deal closer. There was some weakness in her voice throughout.

My impulse would be to use the personal attacks to make a point. “But the issue isn’t who I dated back in high school. It’s the out of control spending in Washington. The focus shouldn’t be on me, It should be on the people who are without jobs, whose homes, businesses and savings are in jeopardy.”

My sense is the ad is to humanize her. To communicate that the attacks are on a flesh and blood person, a female for that matter. To build up some sympathy for her. This is not quite the image of a Sarah Palin mama grizzly.

I don’t know. I think she might have been better off to play the witch thing for laughs, use the “bewitched” theme music (nobody doesn’t like Elizabeth Montgomery/Samantha) or sinatra’s witchcraft.

This ad lacks pizzazz. And I think O’Donnell’s got a lot of pizzazz.

The one she is really like is Sally Field, that’s who she really resembles.

Maybe she should have done a play on “you like me...you really like me”.

Like I say, no ooomph here.

Ad sucks very very very much. Black backround with swirling magical blue. Come On! People tough love help her out and let her know she needs to hire better people to help her.

Agreed.
“I’m taking my broom to Washington because I’ll need it to SWEEP OUT THE RATS!”

Use the left’s vileness against them.

Pajamas?
I am Spartacus?

Youbetcha!

LOL, since writing that post I’ve had “It’s Witchcraft” stuck in my head all day.

Which is OK.

I’d kind of forgotten how much I love that song.

Maybe I’ll check in at the Canteen with a request for it this weekend!
