“Ghost Story” was a fantastic 1981 movie with legends Fred Astaire, Melvyn Douglas and Douglas Fairbanks Jr.

I just got 'Carriers' from Netflix. Heard it was underrated but very good. I want to watch it this chilly evening if I can corral the wife from her duties as grandson entertainer.
A good horror comedy would be 'A Comedy of Terrors', 1964, starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone, Joe E. Brown. Joyce Jameson, and Rhubarb the Cat. Great movie.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

If you want “creepy” without the gore, see “The Changeling.”

"Silent Hill" Based on a video game. I normally despise horror movies but this one was pretty good.

Godzilla is good for some laughs. I saw Godzilla as a child. I did not laugh.

"The Serpent and The Rainbow" with Bill Pullman.
Borderline "horror", perhaps; but definitely well-done and worth a look.
A pseudo-documentary, you might say.

Pan’s Labyrinth is yet another film about those wonderful communists (Republicans in the Spanish civil war) striving against those evil Christians. The fantasy part is just a sideshow. I was really sorry I rented that.

Don't be afraid of the dark with Kim Darby is good and so is an old one from the 60’s “Horror Hotel”. The one with Karen Black and the “little Obama” doll that runs around but I can't think of the name.

Have you seen Night of the Hunter? I found it extremely frightening.

“Carnival of Souls.”
That was what I was going to say.
I hate horror movies, I don’t even know why I am on this thread, but I kind of think it was to see if anyone would recommend that one.
Very good and probably people have not seen it lately, although it used to be on TV rather frequently.
