Gloria Stuart at her home in West L.A. on July 6, 2010, 2 days after her 100th birthday. (Lawrence K. Ho / Los Angeles Times)
She looks better painted naked.
100 years old, and she was still beautiful.
This is tragic. What horrible news. She seemed like a wonderful person. I wish her family well as they mourn their huge loss. Prayers to Gloria Stuart on her journey to see God.
RIP.
I hated the part when she threw the jewel in the sea.
One of those women who were beautiful in their youth and maturity. RIP Ms. Stuart.
May she rest in peace and may we be as fortunate as she to be productive and able into our later years.
I’ve never seen Titanic but she was the love interest in Gold Diggers of 1935. That movie has a few ups and downs but it is basically extremely well done with some pretty hilarious dialogue, some great character actors, and it displays the genius of Busby Berkeley.
She was a natural beauty for all 100 years of her life. She is beautiful in this picture. May she rest in peace.
It will be interesting to see how the newer stars age with all of the Godawful plastic surgery they are now having. They all have the Wildenstein look, and it is scary. Bring back the natural beauties like Loretta Young, Hedy Lamar, Vivien Leigh, and Gloria Stuart, etc. Perhaps some had a little help with noses and teeth here and there, etc., but they still looked natural.
I think her hands died at 98. Still had a beautiful face though.
You mean that wasn’t Kate Winslet in heavy make-up?
There’s a great scene where they zoom in on Stuart’s eye and then seamlessly (it looked that way to me) transitioned to the same eyeball in Kate Winslet’s face. I don’t know how they did it, but it was a cool effect.
No way to know if any of those who died on the Titanic would still be alive now if the ship had not sunk.
I just watched Titanic the other night (note to self: no cappucino after dinner) but the name of this actress escaped me.
May she RIP.
RIP
Boy, she looks pretty darn good there, still has that beauty showing through.
rip, girl. Darn.
Gloria was a darned good lookin’ gal in the thirties. I remember her in The Old Dark House with Charles Laughton, Boris Karloff, Raymond Massey, Melvin Douglas...a HECK of a cast.
ping
Well she made it.
Still, my friend is 100 years and 3 months old. Blood pressure is better than most people over the age of 30 and outlook on life is always a joyful disposition that is met with a smile and a laugh.
