Just had the greatest cigar!

A Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Robusto with a maduro wrapper
I've had this kicking around in the humidor for a month and decided to bring it in to work with me today. I had to finish up the latest impossible task and start planning the next impossible task, so I'd need some thinkin' time.
This beauty lit right up and had the smooth draw that I've come to expect from the RP line. Oddly enough, I can deal with off flavors more readily than I can with a poor draw, but I digress.
I'll forgo any pretentions of saying that I could taste 'coffee with nuances of oak transitioning to spices', I can't. But the smoke was very pleasant, quite smooth, and I just wanted to sit there in the cloud happily doodling away on my notepad.
The filler is marketed as being "secret", but I've read some rumors that it contains tobacco from India, dunno.
But I'm not going to complain.
Just had to share...

What do those run you?
Thanks for the post BTW. We need a smoky-smoking room section.

Had a not-so-great smoke last nite
To: El Sordo
I’ve had a Robusto with the Corojo wrapper - I am not a Maduro fan - and it was a good solid cigar. A little pricey and could probably use some time in a good humidor to even it out. My regular smoke is a Fuente Don Carlos or H Upmann robusto with a Cameroon Wrapper. The Upmann Vintage is a real nice cigar too.

I paid nine bucks for it, buying it as a single stick.
Every now and then I'll swing by Timber Valley Tobaccos in Beaverton Oregon and buy an over-priced item to try. Probably largely because I think the gal at the counter is pretty and I am a schuck.
Browsing on-line seems to show that a full box will set me back around $130-$150, so I won't be in a big rush to buy a box. But I plan to daydream about it quite a bit.

They have their place.
I’ll have a nine dollar cigar every distant once and a while.
The rest of the time it’s Backwoods and such.

Thanks for posting. I will try the RP, sounds good. Maduro Robusto's are what I always smoke. Usually Arturo Fuente Rothschilds or La Gloria Cubana Series R #5. Yummm!

I've never sampled the H Upmann line. Is the Vintage a good place to start?
