In this video, the man who came to fame as Captain Kirk on Star Trek, and now stars on ABCs Boston Legal, presents a view on gun control not normally seen.

Man, 40 years sure can change a person. Hard to believe that handsome young guy is the William Shatner we know now.
‘Course, I was quite the handsome dog myself, 40 years ago. Hard to believe so much time has gone by.
Well, to be fair, he is practically 80.
Are you serious? I knew that he's older than I am, but wouldn't peg him at more than about 70 at most.
>> Not sure if its about guns or buns??
Still ambiguous.
LOL
He was born in 1931, making him 79.
No big deal. My friend is 100 years old and almost 3 months. She looks great and is doing great.
It’s a great life if you don’t weaken.
Well, what do you know. I had no idea he was that old. He's only a year behind my dad.
Its a great life if you dont weaken.
Oh, I know that alright. My granddad was still strapping on his tool belt and hanging sheetrock in his early 80's. My dad is 80 now, and besides a bit of gout, he's in great shape. I'm 57, and climb ladders and build stuff every day of the week. It hurts more than it used to, but I'm still faster than most young guys.
That is what happens when criminals are the only ones who are allowed to have guns.
You need to take a look around - we've added 100 million-plus mostly third-worlders to the population in the last 40 years. They aren't here for liberty, opportunity or gun rights - they came for what's in your wallet.
At the rate they're breeding (at our expense) and strolling across the southern border, they'll outnumber those of us with ties to the old US real soon.
The near future of this nation is a poor, third-world police state. I'm not sure that immediately closing the borders and expelling tens of millions of freeloaders would be enough to offset the demographic damage we've allowed.
Hmmm. That is encouraging. I know I've heard him say liberal-sounding stuff, but maybe he's coming at it from a more libertarian direction. If so, good on him.
Well then. I guess it's all over for us.
What's the point of all these Tea Parties, and political rabble rousing? Why bother even reading the news? What's the point of even giving a rip about the latest poll numbers? Why should I care whether Obama gets another Marxist onto the Supreme Court, or whether they build that mosque at Ground Zero?
Maybe I ought to just quit fighting with left-wingers. They've won, after all. In fact, the next time I read some impassioned call to arms on this website, I'm going to tell them to STFU and sit down. We just look silly talking like that, you know?
>>They took them by force. The guy who was the inspiration for the character Crocadile Dundee, refused to give up his guns, they killed him.<<
How many did he claim in return?
If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.
Winston Churchill
Miracles happen, individual states may secede from the union and take a more rational path, etc.
Sorry to depress you, but I don't see how anyone can have hope for the future of this nation considering the direction we're taking demographically, politically and economically, not to mention the disastrous empire-building and military adventurism abroad.
No clue, but I doubt if he got any, hard to defeat swat teams with just rifles, and hand guns. The notion that civilians can defend themselves from military offensives is a little over rated. One guy alone is just a sacrificial lamb.

I didn't think my post required a sarcasm tag. Trust me, you haven't depressed me in the least. I'm still in the fight.
You, on the other hand, sound like you're about ready to cash in your chips and pack it in.
I suppose so, if you give up all advantages of intelligence, terrain, coordination, communication, and strategy.
If you do not do that, work with others of like mind, mount intelligent offensives...
I guess we end up with the Tea Parties. Ballot box before cartridge box.
Looking to examples, while not popular, Osama Bin Ladin was just one guy.
One would think the Aussies would have all that pioneering spirit that was here in the beginning, but I guess they don’t. Sadly, I doubt that spirit is very healthy here either.
Beck had an interesting guest on last night, she was a twelve year old student when Hitler was elected by a 97% margin, the changes began immediately. Her scenario of the events were eerily similar to what we are seeing here today, except health care came last.
Hitler ran as a Christian, but really preferred the Muslim model.
