The last time I saw it the tape it was shown from was pretty chopped up and it was like watching an old scratched multiply spliced film. I don't like to get these things on DVD because my experience of getting odd movies on DVD that I enjoyed in the theater has been bad. Essential scenes go missing and other things get digitated out of scenes somehow. I am thinking especially of Popeye, the last good work that Robin Williams did before he succumbed to successful-comedian syndrome, the notion that people have to see that he is really a Serious Actor.

I tivo’d it a while back just to have a copy of it, but I didn’t watch it. I will have to check and see if the version they showed on Encore was the same.

I’ve always wondered, is he homosexual? Because I thought you would have to be to take that role, especially in 1975. He has not done anything like that since, though. I thought he was good in Hunt For Red October.

Finding relief that I am not the lone FReeper who loved this movie. Perhaps not the movie so much as the fun singing and dancing with strangers!
