European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has come up with the idea to build a passenger flight with a completely transparent fuselage.
The central body of the aircraft will allow passengers to the see the stars above and city lights below
The planes of the future will offer an unparalleled, unobstructed view of the wonders of the five continents where you will be able see the pyramids or the Eiffel Tower through the transparent floor of the aircraft, Airbus said while unveiling the concept The Future By Airbus earlier this year.
The company talks of morphing seats made from ecological, self-cleaning materials, which change shape for a snug fit; walls that become see-through at the touch of a button, affording 360 degree views of the world below; and holographic projections of virtual decors, allowing travelers to transform their private cabin into an office, bedroom or Zen garden!

The transparent plane's outer skin would be made of a special futuristic type of ceramic. The push of a button would send electricity flowing through the material, making the main body of the plane see-through.
So...Wonder Woman's plane...not for people afraid of heights.
You'll be able to see the throw up splatter on the transparent bottom.
Hopefully it wouldnt extend as far as the toilets.
Still won’t be able to see through the wiring, piping, fuel tanks, luggage, etc, etc, etc.
Does this plan include transparent luggage in the overhead bin and belly of the aircraft, or will luggage be permanently banned for air travel by the time this goal materializes?
Could make membership in the Mile High Club more interesting.
These people are mad. Literally mad.
If these are Airbus’s engineers, their product safety and quality is suspect.
Along with clothes to make TSA full body security scans more effective...
Along with their sanity.
Now what happens if there is a problem, the plane goes out of control and is about to crash? Would the transparent fuselage be turned off thus sparing the passengers the view of their impending demise? Or, maybe it could change itno a projection of a zen garden.
"Don't tell me you've never heard of transparent Aluminum?
Computer. Oh, computer?"
Yuck. Vomit. No thanks.
Transparent condoms?
Well...kinda like the pilot axiom....If you’re flying a single engine plane at night and the engine conks out...glide down and when you get close to the ground turn on the landing lights. If you don’t like what you see...turn off the landing lights.
General Products hull.
SHAZBOTT! You beat me to it! :)
Beat me to it. That was the first thing I thought of.
Ummm...
I hope the lav’s got a separate power control!!!
More seriously - how are they going to make the miles of wire, struts, installed systems, etc. disappear? Or the luggage below deck?
Did anyone ever notice Wonder Woman never even carried a purse when she flew? It would have shown in the plane!
That’s would be so cool! Plus that would take the mile high club to a whole new level! That is until the plane starts to go down and u can see yourself plummeting to ur death!
