President Barack Obama, who invoked his own Christian faith recently in seeking to quell anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States, attended church in Washington on Sunday for the first time in about five months.
Obama and his family strolled a block from the White House to St. John's Episcopal Church, a place of worship for many of his predecessors, for an hour-long service.
It was one of just a handful of times Obama has gone to church in Washington since taking office in January 2009, and follows opinion polls showing that as many as one in five Americans falsely believe he is Muslim.
Obama's visit came after he appealed for religious tolerance after a Florida pastor's threat to burn copies of the Koran sparked an outcry in the Muslim world and controversy swirled around plans to build a Muslim cultural center and mosque near the site of the September 11 attacks in New York.
"As someone who relies heavily on my Christian faith in my job, I understand the passions that religious faith can make," Obama told a September 10 news conference.
The Obama family never joined a church in Washington. Obama has said it would be too disruptive to the congregation. The White House says he regularly attends services at a chapel at Camp David when spends weekends at the presidential retreat in Maryland.
Obama was a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago before quitting in 2008 during the presidential campaign amid controversy over provocative sermons by its former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

No, special palistinian muslim speaker on 2-state solution—as per another FR thread...
Okay.
I got my info from FR years ago that he and Nancy stayed away from church (and again who cares one way or the other) for reason I gave above.
Again, who cares except all the religious nuts.
BFD!
Once ... an appearance ... LMAO! Trying to rein in the Christian vote!
What a phoney!
Taqiyya
And the obamaroids and the liberaltarian Reagan haters. But who else cares.
perfect
Ever time I see one of the Obama minions I think of that movie.
Esp. the parts where the wife was catching glimpses of the demonic faces and she being labled as the “mental disturbed” one.
Great movie.
You mean their Korans?
The Devil’s Advocate is one of the most underrated movies of all time, esp in the theological genre. It is a great depiction of how spiritual warfare could well be playing out. It is one of the few movies which depicts the Bible from the side of Hell. Satan is real. Revelation is real. There is going to be a mega-clash someday very soon. Soros is a test-model of the AntiChrist, a traitorous Jew from WWII, pure worldly God-hating evil.
Agree.
In all aspects of the movie.
Apparently you. At least you care enough about it to post the falsehood about President Reagan in defense of obama. You care enough about it to lose your temper when I corrected you. Too bad you don't care enough about it to get it right, or to refrain from insulting those who do.
That is what struck me about that film. It had it's 'off' moments (Reeves becoming an angel or Christ...whichever it was) but overall you're right. And it showed mans arrogance and weakness very clearly (vanity....my favorite sin). Anyway I was just perusing the forum and found this thread and your comment.
Good spot.
0bama attends Church today, to hear a special speaker.

I hate when these polls are reported that way. The “jouralists” assume that the 20% or whatever percent believe Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim are ignorant bumpkins, deceived by right wing propaganda, who don’t realize that he claims to be a Christian and claims to have somewhat regularly attended the hate group known as Trinity United Church of Christ.
Now, I am not convinced he is a Muslim, but I have seen no real evidence to suggest he is a true Christian, and plenty of evidence to the contrary.
Personally, I believe he worships himself. When he was asked if he prays, he basically said that he prays by talking to HIMSELF, inside his mind, and asking himself how he is doing. (Not a bad thing, but certainly not “prayer”.)
When asked what sin was, he defined it as being out of alignment with HIS values. To him, sin is not violating God’s values, but Barack’s.
If one “prays” by talking to himself and defines sin as actions out of alignment with his own values, that person, whether he realizes it or not, has set himself up his own “god”.
I read that he was one of “about 40” worshippers in attendance. At 9 am in the center of DC. hmmmmmm
