NEW YORK, - New York's spreading bedbugs have struck another high-profile Manhattan store, Niketown, Nike announced Saturday.
Nike's flagship store on East 57th Street was forced to close Saturday, the New York Daily News reported.
"Our primary concern is the well-being of our consumers and sales associates," Nike's statement said. "We are taking all proper steps to eradicate the problem and we expect the store to reopen shortly."
The five-story Niketown, with big-name endorsers like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Derek Jeter, sells wares ranging from expensive footwear to headbands to T-shirts.
Before hitting Niketown New York, the insects are known to have bitten into the Empire State Building, the Hollister store in SoHo, the Brooklyn district attorney's office, a Times Square movie theater and the Time Warner Center.
A study by the pest control company Terminix found New York had the nation's worst bedbug infestation.
From the look of things they’re also well established in City Hall and in the offices of the Historic Landmarks Commission.

About three months ago I saw an article about some guys that came up with a payback scheme.
They’d sell lice, bedbugs,crabs etc on line and send you some.
About three weeks later they closed down Victoria secret and some other upscale store in N.Y.,
since then we’ve been seeing this infestation all over in “special”places like this Nike flagship store.
Now I got to believe we all have an ex wife, girlfriend, inlaws, boss or whatever that we’d all love to infest with some unGODly creature.
Coincidence? maybe, maybe not.

The way I look at it , here in NYC, we hired a guy to be the chief executive officer of our government for a dollar a year. A guy who made seven billion dollars from scratch legally and ran a large company. A guy who for all his warts actually knows how to run something.
You folks in the “real” USA.....how are you doing with that community organizer you hired to run an even bigger government. A guy who couldn’t organize a two car funeral.
