Who are the Browns?
Tune in for Sister Wives, premiering Sunday, Sept. 26, at 10 PM (ET/PT), and explore the complex daily life of a polygamist family.
Meet husband Kody along with his three wives: Meri, Janelle and Christine and their combined 13 children and see how they attempt to navigate life as a "normal" family in a society that shuns their lifestyle. From their unconventional family structure and living arrangements to financial challenges, each half hour episode exposes the inner workings of a polygamist household, revealing the unexpectedly tight-knit and loving relationships between Kody's wives.
Sister Wives also captures the intense dynamics surrounding a man juggling three wives while attempting to keep it a secret from the outside world but the general public is not the only challenge that the Brown family unit is facing. The series begins with Kody announcing plans to take on another wife and her three kids and although expected, the news is met with mixed feelings. Meri, Janelle and Christine were married before starting families so all of the children grew up as siblings. And for sixteen years, the Sister Wives have established their own role within the group and worked together to maintain a cohesive, loving unit. Bringing on a fourth wife could easily disrupt the balance, changing lives forever. The series chronicles the growing pains as Robyn and her kids assimilate into the family and the sister wives work through the insecurities and uncertainties that are inevitable to their chosen way of life.

I saw some clips on the internet—he is married to one, the others are girlfriends, but he has a house with apartments joined, and 13 kids. Very pro clips I might add :(
It’s ok. I’m a Cardinals (ok, Warner!) fan. This year is gonna be tough! :(
And that is the purpose of it all, to destroy our culture and sow confusion. That has long been a Communists goal and Hollywood and the entertainment industry are all part of it.
Well, the God of the Old Testament made a lot of wives for some of the patriarchs.
This bizarre group of people don’t even call themselves Mormon, and yet, you don’t waste the opportunity to discuss what you don’t like about Mormons. Since you are going way back to the 1800’s to get your talking points, then I would like to know why you ‘Christians’ like to call people witches and then kill them? I hope you feel warm and fuzzy inside from being religiously superior to others.
Polygamy was legal in Utah territory for many years...
In fact Brigham Young, the LDS Mormon leader declared that his LDS Mormon god told him that monogamy was “prostitution” and that their jesus and their god the fahter had been polygamists..
The LDS Mormons still have not rescinded their doctrines which claim men who practice ploygamy become gods like their mormon jesus who was once a man became a god...
and that each “god” got to have his own plaqnet with many “wives” of his own..
The LDS morm ormons believce that when their mormon jesus returns he will reintroduce polygamy as a necessary doctrine..
Until 1890 Utah could not become a state because they would not give up polygamy...
Finally the US government threatened to take away their property and started putting the perpatrators in prison for “unlawful cohabitation”...bigamy...and so the mormons proclaimed that polygamy was over...that the morm on god had changed his mind..
But they kept on “marrying” new wives for decades..
The mormon leader Woodruff who made the 1890 proclamation kept his polygamist wivesw as did several leaders following him..
so much for a new proclamation...
D&C 132 is still on the books but is not “practiced” by the off shoot that moved to Utah any more...
However the fundalmentalist LDS still follow the original teachings of the mormon prophet Joseph Smith...
D&C 132 was a “new and everlasting covenant” and the “first principal”
In other words polygamy was supposed to be the most important tenet of mormonism..
and supposed to last forever..
*snicker*
Isn't it amusing that when it comes to money, suddenly the Mormon god reconsidered polygamy.
It never ceases to amaze me what people willingly believe even when the “prophet” is exposed for what he really is.
The male, “star of the show” doesn't agree with you.
“This bizarre group of people dont even call themselves Mormon, and yet, you dont waste the opportunity to discuss what you dont like about Mormons.”
The “husband” of these three women, claims to be a
“fundamentalist Mormon - like a fundamentalist Catholic or a fundamentalist Christian but NOT like an LDS Mormon”.
You may want to argue with him. He believes and states he is a Mormon - a fundamentalist Mormon.
It's not MY fault that this Mormon wants a show to highlight his fundamental Mormonism.
“Since you are going way back to the 1800s to get your talking points, then I would like to know why you Christians like to call people witches and then kill them? “
This is September 16th, 2010 - NOT the 1800’s! I can't help it if you don't like your Mormon history. I said nothing about the 1800’s. I haven't called this group “witches” or wanted to “kill them”. I see them as pulling our culture into an immoral sewer.
“I hope you feel warm and fuzzy inside from being religiously superior to others.”
I don't feel anything but disgust for a show like this. Personally speaking, when I feel utter disgust, I hardly feel “warm and fuzzy inside from being religiously superior to others.”
I am not ashamed to say polygamy is wrong and it is disgusting. If you believe making that common sense judgment call makes me “feel superior” you're wrong. I am wondering if your Mormonism has given you an inferiority complex.
Here, listen and see “Kody” identify himself as a fundamental Mormon in teh video, Kody tells all.

Argue with Kody that he is not the “fundaMENTAL Mormon” he claims to be. DOn’t blame me for what HE SAYS.
I just can’t wait till TLC comes up with a bestiality show or Homos molesting their same sex adopted kids. Of course they’ll position it as being affectionate with the animals and kids and YOU have YOUR mind in the gutter.
“Well, the God of the Old Testament made a lot of wives for some of the patriarchs.’
That is incorrect. God created the women, of course. Some patriarchs took multiple wives. They were not instructed by God to do so. They did it anyway. Much to their demise, often detailed in Scripture.
“From the Arab world to Colorado City, AZ, they all seem to share an affinity for walled compounds...”
Texas, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota....and nothing is being done about it. I just read somewhere that the reason McCain, J.D. Hayworth, et al have done nothing, taken no action, rarely, if ever, comment on it, is that there are 10,000 plus members...all who vote Republican. Anyone know if that’s true? They are America’s ‘taliban’. I know I won’t be watching any tv show that promotes it.
“I think we may have an incest thing going on...”
FLDS on Wiki:
“Birth defects
The Colorado City/Hildale area has the world’s highest incidence of fumarase deficiency, an extremely rare genetic condition.[citation needed] Geneticists attribute this to the prevalence of cousin marriage between descendants of two of the town’s founders, Joseph Smith Jessop and John Yeates Barlow.[80][81][82][83] It causes encephalopathy, severe mental retardation, unusual facial features, brain malformation, and epileptic seizures.[84][85]’
And it is every woman's fantasy to have three men at the same time - one cooking in the kitchen, one cleaning the bathroom, and one mowing the lawn while she reads her book.
*****And it is every woman’s fantasy to have three men at the same time*****
What planet are you from? LOL!!!!
Yes it is. The Derek Anderson I got to know over the years showed up today.
Yeah, kinda what I expected... still disappointing to get beaten so handily :(
