The Tea Party revolution will not be televised You will not be able to stay home, VOTER. You will not be able to plug in, turn on and Rush out. You will not be able to lose yourself on B. Hussein and skip, Skip out for beer during commercials, Because the revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be brought to you by the Kennedy Award Theatre and will not star Charlie Rangel and Nancy Pelosi or Sponge Bob Square Pants. The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal. The revolution will not get rid of the Hannitized. The revolution will not make you look five pounds thinner, because the revolution will not be televised, VOTER.
There will be no pictures of you and Willie Boy pushing that shopping cart filled with Hillary's Pant Suits Trying to Shove Hsu into a Stolen Ambulance. NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32 PM or report from 29 districts confirming Poll numbers. The revolution will not be televised.
There will be no slow motion or still life of George Stephanopolis strolling through Watts in a Red, Black and Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving For just the proper occasion. MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Rosie O'DONNEL will no longer be so damned relevant, and women will not care if Bill finally gets down with Katie Couric on Search for Tomorrow because the Tea Partiers will be in the street looking for a brighter day. The revolution will not be televised.
There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock news and no pictures of heavily armed Marine liberationists and Ollie North killing Insurgents. The theme song will not be written by Al Gore, nor sung by Francis Scott Key, Barbara Boxer, Code Pink, Harry Reid, or the Rare Earth. The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be right back after a message about a Black President or a White President. You will not have to worry about a dove in your Congress, an Idiot in your VP Slot, or the giant crook in your Senate. The revolution will not go better with Pepsi. The revolution WILL fight the institutional racism that cause bad elections. The revolution WILL put a Fence on the Mexican Border. The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised, will not be televised, will not be televised. The revolution will be no re-run Voters; The revolution will be live. VOTE with the Tea Party Republicans and Win.
As one friend of mine bemoaned recently at lunch, "We've been disenfranchised..."
“Blue Oyster Cult is the soundtrack for the Revolution”
[Stephen Hyde; That 70’s Show]
Funny, as I was reading through this, and before I got to the bottom , I was going to respond that Gil Scott-Heron was going to demand royalties. (From what I remember, he could use them, as I believe he is having a very hard time making it)
Right on, we will and not a soul can stop it!
I remember Gil Scott Heron well, and heard, “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” on vinyl back in the 60s. That album was damn near X-rated, it was so subversive.
Brings back memories of my teen years in the hood.
I like the Tea Party play on the theme, though, except in this case, the Tea Party Revolution will indeed be televised. We’re quickly becoming the only game in town, and the biggest news on the planet.
bump
Can someone please educate me as to the origins of the quote “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised?”
I know it’s really famous but I never did catch the original reference.
Thanks.
Google Gil Scott Heron
Well, the Black revolution wasn’t on TV, it was spiked fro awhile. So far, the Tea Party crowd on 4/15/2009 in DC, was not covered, the MSM couldn’t even count it correctly.
If Heron shows up at a Palin ralley, he can be an instant millionaire by selling CD’s, if he would just “relate” a little to the current “revolution”.
After all, a black President means he won something, doesn’t it ?
Very nicely done!
Freudian-Slip ping
OK, I did. Very interesting. Thank you very much. :0)
The 60’s and the 70’s are a blur for me. I missed the Revolution. LOL
Never happen. Gil Scott is way too much the radical black revolutionary to even consider such a thing. You think Obama's a radical? He's got nothing on Gil Scott.

Yep, you speak reality, the “Unforgiven” in Black.
Uh Oh, you dated yourself.....remember Heron.
Nice catch, Freudian-Slip “afro” it was....
> or the Rare Earth
Maybe update to Beyonce or Snoop Dog
Update to Beyonce or Snoop Dog.....?
Actually, I like the Rare Earth better. Besides, its a play on the EPA.
