OPEN LETTER TO GEN. PETRAEUS (Please re-post to anti-jihad sites)
Were the actual burning to take place, the safety of our soldiers and civilians would be put in jeopardy and accomplishment of the mission would be made more difficult.
Gen. David Petraeus
General, I ask you this: what in hell is your mission if We The People jeopardize it by exercising our First Amendment rights in our own homeland? Is your mission to defend our rights against foreign enemies, or to defend foreign enemies against our rights?
You made your choice, and you justified it by claiming that you and those under your command have been taken hostage by our 7th Century terrorist enemy, and that the ransom demand you deliver to us is that we submit to your captors restrictions on our natural and constitutional rights or theyll kill you.
I remind you and your captors that we do not negotiate with terrorists.
And I remind you that you are the most revered general in the present day, commanding in the most powerful military in all of history, during the most justifiable war in the last seventy years. So please either remember your priorities and slaughter your captors, or resign in disgrace so that we may replace you with a warrior. And if you resign, you should do so right along with President Obama, Gen. Caldwell, Pentagon Spokesman Lapan, Sec. of State Clinton, Atty. Gen. Holder, NATO Sec. Rasmussen and all others in all branches of government and in all alliances who echoed your request, whether they did so mindlessly or with surrender aforethought.
To have our own military leaders beg us to refrain from exercising our Constitutional rights on our own soil is completely un-American. And to have you make that request of us in the name of cowardice is a shocking and unthinkable perversion I still dont have the words for.
But I do have the plan for it. We The People will force the issue right here and now. We dont want harm to come to our military, but if peacefully exercising our rightful freedom on our own property here in our own homeland endangers you, then we will endanger you!
We will burn the Koran for freedom and post the videos for all the world to see. We can be overt or covert, named or anonymous, sparse or numerous but ultimately we will be unstoppable, and eventually we will be effective.
We will do this because you have no f*****g right to sell our freedom down the river for the sake of our enemys sensitivity. We will do it because you more than have the power to defend yourselves against that enemy if only you would use it. We will do it because facing danger to defend our rightful freedom is why we pay you, train you, equip you, promote you, appoint you, deploy you, and formerly! revere you.
You work for us, General, not for our enemy. Therefore we will regain control over you and over this war from the command center of our own backyards. We will force you to end any of your appeasement and nation-building which would restrict our Constitutional rights. We will force you to defend yourselves and us, and to do the job you were appointed to do: destroy the enemy in defense of our freedom.
Our military has the power. We hired you to use it. Now well make sure you do.
When Americans can burn our own copies of the Koran on our own soil without credible threats from jihadists or appeasement of those threats from our President and our Generals, then we will gladly stop burning them.
We are a free people, and although we clearly live in occupied territory psychologically, we do not yet live in occupied territory legally or physically. We will do as we please, and we will continue to expect all branches of our government to secure our right to do it.
I remind you that securing our rights is the only legitimate reason that governments are instituted among men in the first place, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
And not everybody among the governed consents to surrendering our rights to terrorists.
Freedom for all,
Chuck Prime
Now that’s a good strategy.
Think about it. This argument is a very strong onethat a true patriot would never really want to burn a Koran. It’s strong enough that none of you who might have a hidden agenda would want to risk your agenda by trying to argue it.
Even the hot-tempered patriots (which some of you might be), those who run for the matches on impulse, would not press the issue when they realize it’s a strategic setback and kills troops.
So the question is, what would Saul Alinsky advise his followers to do when they encounter an argument like this?
Ill tell youhe would have no answer. Because the same thing applies to Alinsky’s stupid little rules that applies to anything man comes up with, as I explained in post #10.
The answer is to trust in God to lead the way, as our founding fathers did and as Americans have traditionally done. As we did at Yorktown in 1781 and at Normandy in 1944. Because only God can get us out of the mess we put ourselves into.
Is your mission to defend our rights against foreign enemies, or to defend foreign enemies against our rights?

This says it all.
Telling Americans they shouldn't use their first amendment rights simply because it might endanger troops and American citizens, whom our troops are paid to defend, along with our constitutional rights, is simply wrong and this guy has it right.
I’ve read an English translation of the Koran and I do symp
with the sentiments expressed by the Gen. Knowing the extreme
insanity of the Muslim people—willing to murder any who dis
their bloody prophet or false doctrine. But until I see some
concrete evidence that there is religious tolerance in any
Islamic State—that the Christian Bible—or the Hebrew Torah
can be openly displayed or discussed without fear of violence.
Until Imam Puking dog Rauf admits that the building damaged when his kind pirated American Aircraft and brought down the WTC in Islamic Jihad is indeed hallowed ground. I cannot
consider the bloody Koran any more sacred not even as sacred as fertilizer.

Nice post but in the history of this country our Military leaders have NEVER worried what the enemy is going to think or his feelings. The good general should come home and a Red Blooded American take his place,Stormin Norman did not give a crap about what Hussein thought.
The trouble started with Bush and his asinine compassionate welcome wagon and cookies approach to this situation and War ,Kabul should have been blasted flat before midnight NY time 9/11 2001 then the real damage should have commenced.
Kill all the enemy leave them lay then come home to a nice parade and party!
Petraeus did not call for a repeal of the First Amendment. He didn’t refer to the general Constitutional right, he was talking about a particular example. Understanding this difference is critical.
Petraeus merely advised against burning korans because the cost of doing so far outweighs the benefit.
His advice does not restrict First Amendment rights as in other cases, such as legal conviction for verbal expression of violent threats against a person.
Who really wants to burn the koran, anyway? I say it’s subversives, trying to use our Constitution against us.
Burning korans doesn’t kill the enemy. It’s the same as throwing a tantrum. I advise extensive reading on war strategy and tactics.
Burning korans makes them think we are afraid to kill them.

I respectfully disagree having lived in Arabia for 6 years,NOT burning that rubbish makes them think we are afraid of them.
So what you are telling me is that during those 6 years that you “lived in Arabia,” every time you burned a koran the extremists ran away from you in fear.
“So what you are telling me is that during those 6 years that you lived in Arabia, every time you burned a koran the extremists ran away from you in fear.”
End of discussion!! you just went WAY over the edge into left field with that Dumbazzed reply, come back when you learn something.
Or maybe what you mean is, whenever they found you not burning a koran, they attacked you until you whipped one out and held a match to it?
Or be like you and bow down and kiss a mortal enemies azz.
How about this idea. Let’s tell General Petraeus he should devise a new component for the troops to carry: a bag of korans, and plenty of matches.
That way, whenever a firefight starts or enemy is encountered, they simply reach into their bag of korans and the Taliban run away in fear!
Think about the cost savings on ammunition.

How about just be like you a Coward and fool just run away a learned family tradition, I would assume yellow boy LOL LOL.
I didn’t say run away. I said fight like General Patton would fight.
What you’re saying is instead of fighting, we should spend our time burning korans.
“What youre saying is instead of fighting, we should spend our time burning korans.”
NO YOU are saying that Myself I could care less what a sworn enemy thinks..Hey Run Forest Run LMAO Yellow Boy!!
There are as many reasons to burn Korans as there are verses in the Koran.
BTW, although I probably will never burn one, every Koran is going to get burnt in the future, along with everything else unholy.
Those who fail to recognize God, what He has provided, will also end up in the same place.
If that gets some people upset who are headed there anyways, who cares?
You’re saying that instead of sending troops overseas to fight the enemy, we should just have little protests where we burn korans.
No that is what YOU are saying surrender monkey!
